There are "rumors swirling" that Marc Gasol suffered a torn left MCL on Friday night, according the 3 Shades of Blue.
We won't know anything about Gasol until an MRI confirms any diagnosis. There was an additional rumor that Zach Randolph told Tim Duncan that Marc Gasol tore his MCL. Kosta Koufos started the second half and Ed Davis will also help fill the void while the reigning Defensive Player of the Year is outhttp://www.rotoworld.com/player/nba/1418/marc-gasol

Wow.. Injuries are annoying as hell. So many great players left and right.

Terrible news. But an MCL tear is better than an ACL tear, that's for sure.

Iggy heard a "pop" in his hammy...

Rose might have torn his ACL

Terrible night

Is this a 10 wk thing? Probably won't see him until the All-Star break. Another front court spot in the West just opened up, and the Grizzlies chances of opening the playoffs at home just dwindled.

last time Rose tore his ACL , Rubio and Shumpert did too , Rondo not much after that , Lou Williams too , it's like injuries when happen , they happen to few guys in short period of time

I get worried about Drummond getting injured every game. Probably because of how he moves for his size. I always feel like Hes going to blow out a knee or something. Hope for the best for Gasol though.

It being Memphis makes me wonder if Zach gets shipped out and they just write this season off. I think its a true 50/59 shot now that Zach is dealt and they try to develop the young bigs if Marc is missing 3 months of ball

they may try to trade zach to us for you know who.

thoughts.

Rose, Marc, Iggy, i simply think league should start earlier at late september and finish 2 or 3 weeks later.
no back to backs to preserve players health.

2 thought, what if memphis pulls a S:A? tank, and get wiggins like spurs got duncan?

even worse they have capspace for 2015....so they could end up with COnley, Allen, Wiggins, Love, Marc.

scary thought.

You know what would actually be a good fit? Zbo back with the Knicks. This time obviously playing beside Tyson would help tremendously.

Just a hypothetical... but this sucks for the Grizz. My favorite front court is out of commission for a few months. :(

No shep, as much as they might not like him, him for Deandre would be a game changer in a series. Zach could actually score when they have those long droughts and he could give them a post presence. That would make the Clips legit hypothetically having a guy like Zach next to Blake, same with Houston having him next to Dwight

Heard 10 weeks or so. That's all star break time and Marc's a big guy so you have to be careful

Man, D Rose with a possible ACL tear, Gasol with a MCL tear, Iguodala with a hurt ham... **** today, today sucked. Besides a couple of unsuspecting near 40 points games from Wall and Butler, today was ****.

I'm wishing Gasol a speedy recovery. He's one of the only talented centers left in this league and It's a shame to see him go down.

Oh my goodness, the Nba really destroys your body. Lookin' at it makes me wonder how people like Kobe,Duncan,Kg,Nowitzki,Lebron etc could survive so many season without collapsing their body. You have to be a freak of nature to do that. Hope that all of them(Gasol,Randolph,Iggy,Rose) get better.

Yah, that's why I'm never surprised when the players take the money.

Unless you've played for years and built a good nest egg, you can never be sure if your first contract will be your last.

Pretty sure Gasol told Timmy he "Might" have torn it fwiw. Didn't look promising cause it was a non-contact injury but obviously it's pretty much a ? until the MRI today.

Grizzlies center Marc Gasol, I'm told, has a Grade 2 MCL sprain. No surgery required. Out indefiniitely.

It takes longer and they have to be more catious.

This is worrying that his knees are giving him trouble already this soon .

His bros didnt really gave out until last year....

the recovery time is almost the same .

MCL tear at its most extreme is about 8 weeks (not inclusive of rehab time after). I do think they will take their time with him since he is a bigger dude.

A sprain is a tear.

Yup.

Grade II MCL Tear
Grade II injuries are also considered incomplete tears of the MCL. These patients may complain of instability when attempting to cut or pivot. The pain and swelling is more significant, and usually a period of 3-4 weeks of rest is necessary.

He'll be out about 10 weeks. He never went down. And he walked off the court but very slowly.Seemed to slide over his own knee. Don't get to see many replays when the ESPN guys show up, so it was just watching firsthand.
The FO HAS to give this guy time to heal.
TG we got KK this season. It would surely be bleak otherwise. Still, there is no real sub for Marc IMO.

Well, so much for the Grizzlies doing anything this year now (despite firing Hollins, i.e. their defense). This on top of D-Rose going down? Please no more injuries this season, ugh. What next? LeBron breaks something?

Bruno

he has a grade two MCL sprain. partially torn. he'll be out 6-8 weeks.

don't forget kobe still out and may never be the same so this isn't good for the league. if LeBron goes down then they should just close down the league cuz it aint worth watching
