I seriously doubt the Grizz will take this one, unless ZBo comes back AND they reach down and find their lost nads. I am really wondering who the hell these guys are? Is it the lack of Hollins? They look confused on offense and worse on defense. They'd better wake up soon. Got a hell of a West coast trip coming up.

Hey John Walls Era,
Your gif of the Mayweather-Canelo fight is an excellent representation, in just a few seconds, of basically the whole fight. Mayweather lands a series of blows AND then pulls back just enough for Canelo to miss. Brilliant plan which worked to perfection.

Cs with 11 players having scored in the first half. Heat on cruise control; look for them to come out hard in the 3rd quarter, just as they did in the first.
This year's C's reminds me of this year's Lakers (with both teams missing their superstar): the difference between the best and weakest of their 11 man rotations is NOT that big; so everybody will have to make their contribution for the team to eke out wins.

Looking at the half-time stats: The Pacers starters out plus-minus-ed the Nets; but the subs went the other way. Anybody here in this thread watching the game? I would have expected the opposite; because the Nets starters are supposed to be the League's best starting 5; while the Pacers are supposed to be the deepest team. Any observations?

Pablonovi
11-09-2013, 09:56 PM
Surprisingly, not much defense in the Heat-Celtics game: 60-59 half-time score.
Personally, I like high-scoring games much more than low-scoring ones ... would rather see 120 points than 80, any day.

The Cavs have been such a disappointment. Back to back games where the 76ers and incredibly thin roster have clearly been a superior team. Very weird. They clearly have a lot of work left to do.

Pablonovi
11-09-2013, 10:25 PM
I was wrong about the Heat heating up in the 3rd quarter, the C's stayed with them, only trailing by 2 after 3 quarters. Low turn-overs for both teams. Clean, close game - fun to watch. Biggest thing missing? Intensity on defense from the Heat.

Pablonovi
11-09-2013, 10:28 PM
Both teams shooting 50% for 3s. Wade has really heated up. Both teams are on pace to get close to 120 points.

Pablonovi
11-09-2013, 10:29 PM
Both teams will probably hit 100+ points before half of the 4th is over.

ManRam

The Heat gotta figure out a way to make sure they can get this regular season form of Dwyane Wade in the playoffs. They can't afford 3 straight years of **** Wade in the post season. It won't work this year.

Miami by 4 with 6 min to go; Celtics hanging in there.

Celtics' shot rims out. LeBron makes first foul shot. Makes second, 4 point lead with 4 seconds to go. Will miss a triple double due to not enough rebounds, by a little. 11 points for LeBron in the 4th. Avery Bradley been hot in 4th. Celtics foul with 0.3 on clock. Maybe C's still have a chance.

Kidd is going to be a great coach. You can tell. That play to get Joe Johnson that 3, that was gutsy, it almost worked.

Now the problems. The Nets have depth, but the IQ is not there. Blatche, I don't see him staying there. He's probably going to get packaged. They are using Joe Johnson better this season. Deron Williams needs to protect the ball.

@ManRam, example that play where Deron Williams hit that jumper off the TO and had too much space, that was a screen play designed by Kidd. The Paul Pierce 3, was a penetration play drawn up by Kidd. The 3 pt. shot Joe Johnson just missed to tie the game, designed by Kidd. How is he doing nothing?

Again, I'm not suggesting I disagree with you. Just making an observation and admitting I haven't seen enough to extrapolate any further. I think it's certainly possible the be a great coach in the more reserved and calm manner that he's showing thus far.

My "do nothing" comment was purely just how he composes himself physically. It very well could mean nothing in terms of tactics and actual coaching

I noticed the same thing. One thing for Phil Jackson to do it another for a rookie like Kidd. Doesn't work the refs, doesn't work his team from the sidelines, never shouting instructions. He's just kinda there.

But that's a style of coaching. How is he doing nothing is my issue.

Well lets really think about this. He's new to coaching, do you want him jumping around developing a odd relationship wit the refs? I think he's of the demeanor of a Joe Torre or Phil Jackson in his early stages. He's analyzing the game.

I think these teams like Boston, Philly, PHX, LAL and so on only can keep this up for so long. We see it fairly routinely, these hodgepodge teams full of young players and other guys with big chips on their shoulders overachieve for a good chunk of time...but in the end talent will win out and they'll fall back to Earth.

Last year Orlando was a .500 team well into the season, and utterly collapsed later on. Charlotte was decent to start the season. I'm sure there are tons of other instances too.

my point is that the "stars" won't be blamed no matter what because there headcoach has no balls. Their only problems last year were offensively. If Paul George truly has become a better scorer (he really wasn't last season), Danny Granger can provide anything and Scola upgrades the bench scoring like he should, well, they might be the toughest out in the playoffs for the Champs.

I don't get why people have been hesitant to proclaim their greatness. What they did the last two playoffs + how much better they should be...it's a no-brainer.

When Dwight was in Orlando we'd hound the three point line knowing that Dwight was back there as a safety net. So far this year the Rockets defense seems to LOVE leaving 3 point shooters open. Wreaks of bad coaching. Maybe Dwight isn't quite that same defender, but regardless, it's been bad.

He's flopped maybe once or twice dating back to the 2012 season. He's nowhere near the flopper Harden is. In Blake's career he's had one year where he flopped a bunch. Although that has nothing to do with this game, or why I'm saying Harden was a douche.

Does anybody else think players shouldn't be allowed to intentionally miss free throws?

Better yet, why did D-Wade choose to miss it at all? If he makes the second free throw, Miami is up 3. That way, even if that tremendous shot by Green goes down like it did, there will just be overtime in Miami. That was really poor decision-making by D-Wade. Also, if he had actually missed the free throw, the ball would've likely bounced around long enough for the clock to run out.
