View Full Version : Tank race intensifies, Suns one-up Sixers?

With today's trade, are the Suns now in the lead for tanking? Which team do you think is leading the "tank" race? You ask, why tank? Well, next draft will likely produce 2-4 possible franchise players.

Sixers. Suns got a first out of Gortat, not sure if they would have gotten that from any other team.

Getting draft picks is what tanking does to you?

Suns still have a better roster than Philly, IMO. Philly looks like an expansion team right now especially with Noel being out for year (most likely).

Well yea, but Gortat wasnt part of the future, i mean i guess it still counts as tanking, but in a smart way? Not sure if that makes sense lol

Bucks should be replaced by Boston. They're not trying to loose. At least not yet.

Oh yeah, totally spaced Orlando.

I'm wondering what your opinion is seeing that you're a Magic fan. On paper the Magic's roster seems like it could be stronger than the Jazz (specifically speaking short term this season.) Where do you think they end up standing wise?

Its hard to say ... I think we look decent on paper but its alot of youth I think we have a solid young core for the future with vucevic Harris oladipo harkless ... but I think being so young we will lose tons of close games ... I don't think Boston will be as bad as people think .... I think it will be something like this...

Boston will be very bad we have no rim protection and our PG is out indefinitely plus we have no consistent scorer the C's will be in the bottom 3-5.

I think Dragic and Bledsoe are too good for us to be leading the tank :( Exactly. Philly's roster might contend with Charlotte's of a few years ago. Bledsoe and Dragic won't let the team be the worst team in the league

There's still time for Dragic to be traded. Even if he's not, he and Bledsoe aren't good enough to ensure they won't be the worst.

Miles Plumlee, Len, the Morris twins, P.J. Tucker and Gerald Green as a frontcourt rotation is pretty much as bad as you can get.

Bostons tanking is very dependant on if rondo plays this year. If rondos out this team rivals sixers and suns, if rondo plays ya bostons probably 5-8 worst.

Tony_Starks
10-26-2013, 01:02 PM
Still between Boston and Philly. Once Philly gives Turner away it's a wrap.

The only wild card is if the Celts sit Rondo for the season. That could make things interesting....

Thad doesn't have a bad contract in today's NBA. J Rich does :puke: Thad can be a productive offensive player on any team in the league.

I voted Suns simply because I think they will end with the worst record on a coin flip... but this is a dead heat.

At least 5-6 of the rotation players on both of these teams wouldn't be a starter in the D-League.

10-26-2013, 08:02 PM
Lakers should be on the list.

No kobe, Nash can't stay healthy, plus we have 0 players that can play D. We're gonna be so bad. People think were gonna be OK because of Kobe, Pau, and Nash . . . Kobe has yet to even practice and we don't know how good he'll be after the worst injury of his career. Pau and Nash are just big names, no longer what they once were and even worse defensively than they've ever been. The rest of our roster is a bunch of rejects.

DallasTrilla23
10-26-2013, 08:10 PM
I think the suns have the edge even with dragic and Bledsoe.

6ers have a nice front court. You got Hawes patrolling the paint, the single double machine Thaddeus Young and Evan Turner who is gonna lead the team in scoring and assists at the same damn time. If that's not a 29 win team idk what is.

There's really only 2 teams with a real shot at the worst record in the league anyways so I think all the other teams should be taken off the poll

I'm not sure they get traded. I think they should definitely trade ET (after his getting paid comment this past week I want him gone) and I think Young has real value to some teams, but unless Brown can get Hawes playing consistently good (which is quite good when he does want to play) I don't see us getting much for Hawes.

I think Young is liked more by NBA people than a lot of NBA fans and would yield a first and an expiring, I'm not sure what ET yields you, and Hawes I'm not sure has enough trade value to be worth trading, you may have to take a contract on to get rid of Hawes and get any value and that is not worth it.

I wouldnt give up Thad for little but it doesnt matter what you for Hawes or really ET. Those 3 together in a fuill season are gonna add a few unnecessary wins that we dont want or need. ET determines hos own value wit his play and and he and Hawes and Kwame and Lavoy are all expiring so they hold a little value well prob not Kwame lol

Our front court consist of a rookie coming of stress fracture, a vet coming back after being out of the game for 1 year with a heart problem, a 3rd year pf who thinks he can shoot like ray allen and a 2nd year man who is our best big(and starting C) eventhough he logged a total of 55 minutes of PT all of last season.
