View Full Version : Least favorite player who has played for your favorite team

10-23-2013, 12:31 AM
I am curious about this. Guys who played for your favorite team you can't stand. Can be current or past players.

For me it's a guy I like, but despised him the one season he played for the Rockets. Scottie Pippen. Dude was a total bust in Houston and had a crappy attitude as well. Not sure anyone was really happy with that marriage.

So what about you?

10-23-2013, 12:35 AM
Karl Malone, Dwight Howard and smush Parker.

10-23-2013, 12:37 AM
Dwight Howard. And I actually considered him the best in the game when he wasn't out there being distracted with drama, and injuries.

And of course, Smush Parker.

10-23-2013, 12:40 AM
Shawn Bradley. I love watching him get dunked on

10-23-2013, 12:42 AM
Andre Miller. Scumbag.

I loathed Pippen in his time in Houston, but he was a shell of himself at that point, and I don't dislike him as a player looking back on his career. There are other Rockets I can think of that I've hated far more...

1. Kelvin Cato - Pegged as Hakeem's replacement, the Rockets paid him big and he paid them back by being a big flop. He's the king of the overpaid and overrated guys since I've been watching Rockets basketball in the early 1990s.
2. Eddie Griffin - It's hard to hate the guy considering how tragically his life ended, but for a while there, very few players were hated more by me than Eddie Griffin. In addition to the Rockets dealing two better players for him (Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins), the 2001 draft was pretty stacked, and Houston whiffed on Griffin at 7, when Joe Johnson, Zach Randolph, Gerald Wallace, Tony Parker, Gilbert Arenas and Mehmet Okur were all taken later.
3. Maurice Taylor - Overpaid and overrated
4. Stromile Swift - Overpaid and overrated (you're probably noticing a trend here)
5. Trevor Ariza - Just wasn't a good fit for the player the Rockets wanted him to be. He jacked up way too many shots, and he's one of the most infuriating offensive players I've ever endured in Houston.

Honorable Mentions:
Derek Fisher: He never played in Houston, but the Rockets did trade for him before he bolted for OKC instead.
Charles Oakley: Played for a very brief stint in Houston, but I was not a particularly huge fan of this guy before he came here.
Royce White: He many not have played much in Houston, but he was a total jerk and completely alienated himself from the fan base.
Tracy McGrady/Kyle Lowry/Kevin Martin: All three are guys who were loved when they played well, but wore out their welcome by the time their careers were over to the point where they were hated. In the end, I think I'll always have fond memories of McGrady, but not necessarily of Lowry or Martin.

Dwight Howard, but also Shannon Brown.

10-23-2013, 01:05 AM
Dwight Howard hate his offensive game. Terrible just terrible.

10-23-2013, 01:07 AM
As much as Bargnani was a disaster in Toronto, there was no one I can remember hating as much as Alan Anderson (and this is partly coaches fault for playing him so much).

10-23-2013, 01:07 AM
Blaine Gabbert

10-23-2013, 01:39 AM
Kendrick Perkins is an easy one for me. Not the Celtics version. That guy is someone else.

I wouldn't say least favourite but Vince Carter. He legitimately quit on the team.

Overall, I like him as a player in terms of ability. In terms of his stint here, he can go home.

10-23-2013, 02:18 AM
I would have to say Dwight. Mainly because of his constant wining. The fact that he was goofy and WASNT EVEN FUNNY didnt exactly help either. If he atleast made me laugh, i could see past that part. But he didnt...not once. those 2 things about him really irked the h3ll outta me...

10-23-2013, 02:35 AM
Toss up between Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette

10-23-2013, 03:14 AM
Chris Duhon when he played in Orlando. The worst PG known to man. I was begging the Magic to cut him or let Nelson play 40 minutes thats how horrible he was for us.

10-23-2013, 03:28 AM
It was a beautiful day when Sacramento got rid of both Spencer Hawes and Andres Nocioni in one glorious trade with the 76ers.

There may be others I've hated more, but they were first to come to mind.

10-23-2013, 03:39 AM
Kwame Brown (Lakers)

10-23-2013, 04:06 AM
Richard Jefferson. Dude single handedly made the spurs garbage during his whole stint here. He also took a huge paycheck from the spurs.

10-23-2013, 05:04 AM
Cp3 or Chandler

10-23-2013, 06:46 AM
Jermaine O'Neal. The guy was getting 23 millions for being 2-3 go to guy on the team. Always saying how he wants to win etc and then posting the worst FG% in a NBA Playoffs history in the series against Celtics, and basically cost us whole series.

10-23-2013, 07:01 AM
Iverson and Villanueva

10-23-2013, 08:25 AM
Chicago Bulls (more recent):

Andres Nocioni (chucker)
Ben Gordon (chucker, although good scorer)
Larry Hughes
Drew Gooden
Flip Murray
Tyrus Thomas
John Lucas the Terd

10-23-2013, 09:02 AM
From recent years, Reggie Evans and Andres Nocioni come to mind. Nick Young would be on there too, but given how the season ended up going, and with all the stuff that comes with Nick Young, it just ended up being too funny to be in the same class as those other guys.

The most common for the Sixers would probably be Willie Green. And Bynum, I guess. And, sadly, Iggy.

10-23-2013, 12:15 PM
Maurice Lucas, Jeff McInnis, Chris Childs, Stephon Marbury, Joe Barry Carroll, Dave Feick, Vince Carter, Ron Mercer.

Honorable Mention-KVH

10-23-2013, 12:18 PM
For me it's between Jannero Pargo and the Vyrus.

10-23-2013, 12:26 PM
Vince Carter
Gil Arenas
Chris Duhon

Before those guys there weren't many times where we were a good team and crappy players dragged us down, nor were there many super unlikable players early on either.

10-23-2013, 12:56 PM
How the **** could you dislike Noc?

If I recall correctly, we brought him back for a 2nd stint and he sucked it up pretty badly.

For me it's Bogans. And not just cuz he was terrible, but he's definitely one of those guys who looks straight out of prison. Now if you're like David West, and can back up that image with some serious game, that's one thing. But blogans did only one thing well, and that was defense, and he was nothing special even at that. Dude missed so many open 3s Rose got him it was horrifying. God bless JB.

Oh yeah, TT was a waste too.

A question for Lakers fans:

did you hate Sasha Vujacic or was that just us fans of the teams he flopped against? As a Nuggets fan I hated him for how he flopped around when Melo apparently "choked" him.

lol, please
10-23-2013, 02:35 PM
Biedrins, and if Howard made it to the Dubs, he would take that spot instantly, and would threaten my very fandom.

ive kinda always wanted to hate on the guy and I think he's a bit of a baby from time to time, but ultimately he worked hard for us, came through for us when big moments were on the line and played with passion. so its tough to hate on all that.

he also put up a fantastic game three finals performance in 2008 when the Lakers were down 2-0. Pau and Odom were nowhere to be found that night (combined 13 points on 5/18 shooting). Meanwhile Kobe and Sasha combined to put up 56 points on 19/30 shooting in a Lakers victory. He also hit the game clinching free throws against Boston in 2010. Hard to hate on the guy if you're a Lakers fan.

10-23-2013, 03:01 PM

I ****ing HATE that dude.. Never liked him and NEVER will

10-23-2013, 03:04 PM
Ricky Davis by far.

Eddy Curry
Jerome James

10-23-2013, 06:16 PM
Probably Jamaal Tinsley.

I've never really hated a guy that played for the Pacers though. I'll root for anybody that is on the team unless they say they don't like it here or something.

10-23-2013, 06:21 PM
Iverson... I value efficiency.

10-23-2013, 08:38 PM
That's easy. Aaron Brooks.

Chicago Bulls (more recent):

Andres Nocioni (chucker)

Yeah, you guys have had some horrible players over the last decade.

10-23-2013, 09:45 PM
Allen Iverson during his short stint in Memphis

Steven hunter (just was garbage)

Darko milicic (overrated and overpaid)

Kwame brown (reminded me of pau trade)

But by far the most hated player for me...by far is hasheem thabeet

Dubbed thabust, hasheem was taken second in a draft that featured:

 oh what could have been...

10-23-2013, 10:29 PM
Ben Gordon
Charlie Villanueva
Allen Iverson
Rodney Stuckey
Jason Maxiell
Tayshaun Prince
Carlos Arroyo

10-23-2013, 11:37 PM
I hated Nocioni because he took flat out bad shots all the time. I loved his energy and heart, but we're talking about the NBA...not a pick-up game or men's league. You can't afford to take multiple bad shots every game. He chucked...way too much. Other than that, loved the guy.

10-23-2013, 11:54 PM
Andre Miller bc he's a toolbag, or Ryan Gomes for chucking and missing all the time

10-24-2013, 12:02 AM
Anthony Carter and Andre Miller.

10-24-2013, 08:28 AM
@ Suns:

the Morris Twins: INefficient
Beasley: need I say more
Joe Kleine: garbage
John HOT ROD Williams: we should've gotten someone else to play D
Danny Manning: always injured
Richard Dumas: kid ****ed it up

10-24-2013, 08:46 AM
Kenny ****ing Thomas....

The guy who was at first the only decent thing we got from the Webber trade stuck around for like 6 more years buried on the bench and overpaid. So much for being that double double machine we expected

10-24-2013, 08:46 AM
Lamar Odom and it's not even close.

10-24-2013, 09:41 AM
Speed Claxton and John Salmons, any Allen Iverson fanboy would understand why lol.

I can't say Bynum because technically he never really played for us and thankfully so because at least our insurance covered possibility. It was much better that he didn't play than he played and we re-signed his lazy butt for 5/100.

10-24-2013, 09:46 AM
Marcus Williams
Deshawn Stevenson
Travis Outlaw
Johan Petro
Troy Murphy

Honorable Mention:
Joe Johnson
- I want to like him but he either wins you games or shoots you out of them.

10-24-2013, 10:50 AM
As Bulls fan I have seen a lot of players who disappoint me in the last years. Particularly there are two players in two different groups: high pick who didnít play as well as I guessed and players whose backgrounds were excellent but they didnít prove it in Chicago.

Special mention to Curry and Chandler. The first one play very well in the last two years and reached nice numbers as a dominant center, but after this he decided leave Chicago, and his performance plummet. Nevertheless, Chandler hasnít performed in here, but when he set off he began to play better and better.

Anyway, there are two players such as Marcus Fizer and Tyrus Thomas, both of them was picked up in the 4th draft position, and neither of them played very well in Chicago. Their first seasons they showed some potential, but after that they proved anything at all.

In the second group, I expected more from Hamilton and Larry Hughes when they joined to Chicago. They had played very well in Detroit and Philadelphia before being a Bullsí player, but they hardly play one decent season in here. They passed unnoticed and I had hopes for them.

Maybe the case of Hamilton is the most serious because he was a cornerstone in a Champion team such as Detroit, and his numbers dropped very much in Chicago. He is older than before, as everybody in this world, but he hasnít even found a team so far.
