Broussard did an interview with LeBron where he says AI was one of his favorite players, and he still watches video of him play.

Iverson was a lot of people's favorite ball player growing up. Not really surprising, at least not to me.

Probably SF. But these stars are so indecisive it wouldn't suprise me either way.

People can have completely different play styles than their favorite players.

The iverson quote was from an interview with Chris Broussard on espn with lebron. It's a real good interview. He goes into detail about a lot of things, including his motivations, mistakes, weaknesses, mj, iverson, etc...

It's well worth checking out.

AI was actually my favorite player growing up, being a 90s kid. I remember asking my mom to buy me those fresh Reebok AIs whenever a new one would come out.

My favorite player of all time, I always argue with people that without him, MJ as great as he was wouldn't have won six rings, and vice versa

Like it or not, Iverson revolutionized the "little man" when it comes to the game of basketball and paved the way for a slew of NBA talents we all know and love to watch. An entire generation of basketball players grew up idolizing the way he played the game and he had an enormous impact on the NBA game you watch today.

Just because we criticize him doesnt mean we dont like him. Iverson was my favorite player growing up, but i fully realize his impact in game.

I understand what you're saying, but from an all-time standpoint, some people do overrate him when ranking players. On here someone like 3RDASYSTEM pimps Iverson out like he is a Top 20 player, and even though I admire the work he seems to put into his posts, Iverson simply isn't.

Please don't take that as bashing Iverson. He is one of my favorite players ever, and certainly is in my top three Philadelphia athletes.

How is stunning? AI was a beast.

Without a doubt he was incredible to watch. But for someone who plays so unselfishly to idolize someone who epitomized selfish basketball is a little surprising to me.

this interview actually made me to change from "slight hate" ( towards LeBron ) to just "not being a fan" , and it doesn't have anything to do with his liking towards AI or MJ

Good thing he was smart enough to play nothing like him and instead be efficient. Iverson was a fun guy to watch no doubt but being fun to watch doesn't cover up for his glaring weaknesses as a player.

oh i get it. iverson could do a lot of things with the basketball and was a fighter. still, style of play usually is a big part of liking a player growing up and Iverson is about the last person i would have expected Lebron to idolize.

lmfao. your picture is ********, as the Nets are a go-nowhere team, and the Knicks rule NY, so no, SUCK IT NETS! damn fanboys...

and only inner city dufuses liked AI. I always thought he was a tough little guy who had talent, but took AWFUL AWFUL shots, and was just as much a detriment to his team as he was to his crappy reputation.

there's a reason why he's broke, and not a single team wants him when he's still relatively young enough to play. I liked T-Mac....when I was A KID. Then I grew up and realized those players are losers who don't have the mental strength to win a chip.

AI was kinda fun though. Lil firecracker...

People who have negative things to say about AI are stupid, he's not a bad person at heart. Yeah, he's got his problems, we all do. If your not unwise with your money, your a drunk, or OCD, or this or that. Some of people problems are more crippling than others, but whatever not getting to off topic.

AI like someone mentioned earlier set the standard for a lot of things today. I think his scoring prowess, with ability to create contact every time he drove the lane combined with his swag I think set a bit of a precedent. I was young so could be a bit off here but that how I felt watching him then again I'm a Sixers fan plus I was like 10. When you saw him make a tough play and do his post play antics it was just cool. That's the best way I can explain it. Not everything has to be backed with stats or this or that, not everyone wins rings.
