Who would you rather have?

Pretty tough one. T-Mac is one of my favorite players ever... but KD is just an odd breed of size, quickness & athleticism.. and pure offensive genius. The stars really aligned with him and he's improving every year.

This is REALLY tough. Both have sort of the same strengths and the same flaws. You could argue team success trends highly in the favor of Durant...but he had Harden, Ibaka, and Westbrook during his best runs thus far. T-Mac had...ummm...Darell Armstrong? Old Horace Grant? To me they are pretty even. I guess I'll take Durant due to being the better outside shooter. But it's super close. Great comparison JB. Were you aware that there was a thread claiming you died?

My knee jerk response was Durant (even though I'm a Magic and T-Mac fan) but then I looked at the numbers and it's closer than you might think. T-Mac scored a little more, but didn't have Westbrook to share the ball with. Durant's a slightly better rebounder. T-Mac was a much better ball-handler/playmaker, but that's what you'd expect since he's a guard. Their defensive ratings are about the same, but Durant's defensive win shares are much higher. I'll still take Durant, but it's close. It's easy to forget how good T-Mac was in Orlando. It very likely won't be remotely close when we look back on their entire careers, though, since Durant isn't showing any signs of slowing down.

Durant is the guy that can turn a good team into a title winner. Tmac is the guy that can turn crap into gold but prolly harder to optimize the way you can Durant.

Still undecided on which is more valuable

Tmac can carry trash further than Durant but Durant can reach a level of efficiency that Tmac could only dream of. That efficiency is what great teams covet more .

Defensively, I think Tmac was better tho, its just he rarely had the teammates to showcase it.

How did he have trash? Durant did the same thing last year as well.
