I can't help but think the Bucks just got a huge steal this past draft taking this kid. All scouts talked about was how raw he was. After seeing him in just a couple of games though he looks a lot further along and I see some serious star potential here.

I don't know about the best player. But he definitely has the best name.

Its awesome how milwaukee finds these players in the late lottery:

2010: Larry Sanders (15th)
2011: Tobias Harris (19th)
2012: John Henson (14th)

All seem to be on their way to turn into good NBA players

Antetokounmpo could be next in line

Someone add up the total wingspan between Henson,Sanders and Giannis lol.

He looks pretty good. 18 years old too, He does play for the Bucks, though.

Please, leave tobias out lol. They are so stupid for getting rid of him, for a half season rental. Gahhhhhhd..that trade will be haunting for a while. The Bucks have made some awful, AWFUL trades over the years. I like what Hammond is doing with this team but I wish we could have this trade back.

Just wanted to see some preseason numbers because I haven't seen them yet, and the first game I checked he was 1-6 with 5 fouls and 7 turnovers in 28 minutes. 4 blocks and 7 boards though.

Next game he got 14 minutes in and contributed 2 points and 5 boards. From what I've seen from him and those early lines, he seems to be right in line with ''very raw with high potential''.

Gotta love those blocks + boards from a SG though. That's some serious length and athleticism. And 18 years old - He'll be fun to watch improve.

its a great value pick but it is way too early to say he is the best player in the draft. let see how this season pans out and even then its hard to judge who the BEST is unless its clear-cut. after about 2-3 seasons after palyers have had time to develop, we can make that judgement.

Bumping this,I just read this article about his height.

http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/12/3/5170284/giannis-antetokounmpo-height-growing-milwaukee-bucks

So he has grown to 6'10'' since the start of the season, and might become a 7 footer SF with some guard skills?wow.

MOST POTENTIAL??? Maybe. BEST??? Hell no.He doesn't have a big role and starter minutes, while guys like Oladipo,Mclemore,MCW are playing big minutes. To be honest,i'm only impressed by MCW going forward.Sure all those guys are more NBA ready than Giannis though.

How does he look this year so far?He has shown some flashes of being good. His wingspan is huuuuuge, and that gives him a highlight play(block or dunk) preety much every minute he plays.Needs to improve at everything, looks bad at free throws.

That's a good comparison. From what I have seen from Giannis I would say he looks pretty raw, but he's definitely got some potential.

How does he look this year so far?

He looks solid, but raw. Way to skinny. Needs to add some major weight to be taken seriously in the future. Having watched a lot of Bucks games, I want them to draft Julian Embiid and do what they need to trade Larry or whoever for something or another. When Larry is healthy, hes a defensive beast but he also has character issues.

Harris was a big name in high school and actually did really well in college showcasing his potential.

John Henson was really good in college too.

Those two players just fell.

Yeah, I just compare him to Perkins (listed as 6'10") and he looks taller.

KD, PG and Giannis are all of the same mold physically, but I think Giannis actually has a chance to be the strongest of the 3. Giannis was one of my favorite prospects going into camp and I think he and MCW will be the best players in the draft. Giannis so young and has such an intriguing skillset that there is no way he would 14th in this years draft, he would almost for sure go top 8. I think Milwaukee hit a homerun with that pick, I know it was a risk but once he gets going this team is a Marcus Smart away from being something

Phenomenonsense
12-17-2013, 10:48 PM
I draft Giannis in all my 2k games and play him at back up PG despite being like 60-65 rating and my friends hate me for it. Almost as much as abusing Shabazz Muhammad's post game as a starting SG. (Shabazz plays like Kobe if you know how to post with guards).

^^^ my 70 rated SG abuses everyone in the post and has since I started him, even on HOF
