At this point it'd probably be more interesting to come up with fictitious quotes of Kobe saying he'd play in playoff games, because this routine of him making these comments is hardly surprising. How about: "If I was made eunuch today, I would play a playoff game tomorrow."

Well, it's not, so hopefully he doesn't rush it. The worst thing would be for him to come back too soon and get hurt.

But I agree with RiLoc too, is this surprising? Is this news? It's Kobe, of course he'd hobble out there if he had to.

Matter.

Cool, hypothetical situations.

Your funny man, you will never give any credit, ever. Just the fact that he thinks he would be able to play if needed, should tell a lot of people something, Kobe will play before thanksgiving, I still don't thinks he makes it opening night.

Why does it matter that he said he'd "probably" play if it was a playoff game?

I'd "probably" donate a million dollars to charity if I could. The fact is I don't have a million dollars, and this isn't the postseason. So I'm just trying to figure out why it matters.

He has provided enough tape for me to say that. I honestly think Kobe would cut a limb off if it meant he could play.

Wow, can you guys really hate someone who is working his butt off at age 36? Who else has the heart of Kobe? He faked it, really? He faked the injury so he can't play in the playoffs, makes sense. Kobe has the biggest heart and determination in basketball. Dude was literally in tears when he was injured. Jordan's heart and determination doesn't even equate to Kobe's.

Why does it matter that he said he'd "probably" play if it was a playoff game?

[/QUOTE]

Because he tore his achilees less than 6 months ago. At that age its unprecedented for an athlete to be ready to go so quickly. Some people said he'd never be able to play again. So hence the big deal.

Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant is known for his extreme confidence and relentless work ethic- But after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon last season, even he may be questioning his recovery.Throughout his recovery, Bryant has continued to exert confidence in himself and in the idea of returning to the court faster than anyone is anticipating- However it's impossible to not wonder whether Bryant will ever play like he once did after such a devastating injury, even for himself.Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News has discovered an interview with Bryant from his time in China this summer- In the interview Bryant states,"As I sit here with you now, I'm telling you now I'll come back 100 percent- But I don't know if I'm sure. I have moments and days where I doubt myself.

Just saying.

Lol, Yeah he faked it for no reason...

I never said he faked it, he's most likely still recovering. I was referring to Kobe's statement, which he clearly made to perpetuate this fake god-like image to his sycophants, that he's got this "killer" mentality. Kobe is painfully aware how the public views him, that's why he says the crazy things that he says like"If today was a playoff game, I would play".

Uhhhh, have you watched Kobe over the years.

Yes, and I've watched Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and other star players. I don't see what Kobe does to separate himself from them as far as a competitor. Is it taking extra shots after a Heat game in 2011? lol

Why don't you ask Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and other star players who puts in more work? LMAO! Maybe you need to go do some more research on the subject and get back to me.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/366456-the-difference-between-kobe-and-lebron-is-that-kobe-works

Even Hawkeye doesn't deny this fact. It takes a special kind of Kobe hater to deny his work ethic. You sir are a complete joke... No offense, but you just sound foolish when you say things like this. You are more justified in criticizing his work product, than you are his work ethic. Lets just see how your idol Lebron would handle all the injuries Kobe has played through throughout his entire career. So far you are all lucky enough to have seen Lebron not succumb to the injury bug and I hope you don't have to. I just know that he had to get helped off the court for cramps, while Kobe hit two free throws and walked off the court himself after falling victim to the most devastating injuries an NBA player can have.
