It appears that the 2016 NBA All-Star Game may be awarded to the Toronto Raptors.

A report in the Toronto Sun on Tuesday says that the Raptors are on the verge of landing the mid-season game for the first time ever.

The Sun said that an announcement is expected shortly and the game will have tie-ins to the Raptors' 20th anniversary season.

Awesome! Tired of weak ***, pathetic basketball cities like Houston and Orlando the last two years hosting. I know there are some great Rockets and Magic fans on PSD that hopefully know this is nothing personal. It's just that as a CITY and a HOST they did a horse **** job. There would be a nice dunk during the AS game and it would be crickets in the arena. Seriously the last two years were a disgrace to the league. Toronto on the other hand has some of the most diehard, loudest and legit sports fans in the world. I've always loved Raptors fans and think it will be one of the best all star weekends ever.

I'm happy to see fortunes changing for Toronto. I hope they tank this year and nab a top 3 pick, then they will be set for a decade most likely. Gotta dump one of the wings though for a better big next to Val or to back him up. Gay/Derozan/Ross is too redundant. Low efficiency, average shooting freak athletes who don't like to pass much. I'd trade one of them for a better starting PF if possible.

Wiggins seems like a long shot at this point. It's either playoffs or just miss with the Raps roster.

It's not the cities fault that the NBA let these events turn into garbage.

I have a feeling it's going to be a huge weekend, TL will have big plans for sure to make that weekend exciting. I'm sure their will be plenty of celebs in attendance and it will be a great opportunity for the players to embrace one of the best cities in the world.

surprised about the lack of chatter about this event. It may just be because its not a major US city, and its in a foreign country.

Good news for the Raptors here. Hosting an All Star Game will bring lots of attention to that market.

There will be a few Canadians eligible for the rookie/sophomore game. Wiggins/Ennis/Lyles etc..
