I just found out about this website about ranking a search term.

By no means scientific, the search indexing site What Does the Internet Think? (http://www.whatdoestheinternetthink.net/) returns some interesting results when looking up NBA related names below. The site, which uses a proprietary algorithm to measure popularity and perception of a search term has some interesting results below regarding NBA team/players:

Lebron James

Negative 77.5% 7k+ hits
Positive 22% 2k+ hits
Indifferent 0.5% 49 hits

Conclusion
The internet is negative about Lebron James.

Kobe Bryant

Negative 68.5% 5k+ hits
Positive 31.4% 2k+ hits
Indifferent 0.1% 5 hits

Conclusion
The internet is negative about Kobe Bryant.

Miami Heat

Negative 97.7% 7k+ hits
Positive 2.3% 183 hits
Indifferent 0.1% 5 hits

Conclusion
The internet is very negative about miami heat.

Looks like the more popular the term is, the more it has negative results. I tried 'Kevin Durant' it only had like -200 hits but is a Positive.

blah blah whatever lol. :D

Lebrons talents are heavily outweighed by his narcissism..

This is one of those "hater" comments. Such a ridiculous statement. Not only has LBJ proven to be one of the more selfless superstars in the NBA, but you don't know him personally. Either that or you don't know what narcissism is.

Such a general term for a pro athlete anyways. Why is your problem with LBJ, when 99% of athletes are narcissistic.

I just reread that... Not saying I KNOW LBJ, but I feel like the information that we have shows he no more narcissistic than any other superstar in the NBA. Unless you have some super secret information we all don't have.

Does it say how recent the poll was? I would imagine Dwight's, Nash, and Beasleys in particular would be more negative if it was after last season.

I just searched just the top 20 perverted things I that popped into my head to search. This is the funniest I could find: "Puss..." 90% negative vs. "Buttsex" 85% positive

LMFAO...

Anyway, I would love to know how this site really works. I read the article at the bottom but it doesn't say much as he doesn't want to give away the algorithm .

Has to do with media coverage,

Mainly ESPN that latches on successful teams with their star players.

You have to look at something here that is being forgotten...

We live in a world where negative things are going to make head lines and positive things go unnoticed. The majority of pro sports headlines are about negative things that happen. No one reads about charity work a player is doing or money they donate to a foundation, people want to hear about players getting in trouble, breaking the rules, ect.

These numbers are skewed due to the popular negative worldview.

At least most people can see through his farce. It's only here on PSD that people kiss his backside constantly.

Honestly though who would have thought a guy who left his home state after promising he would never leave before he wins them a ring then drops there *** on national tv, joins arguably the 2nd best player in the league behind lebron at the time and another top 20 player then dances around on stage with his new teammates and flaunting how many championships he will win outside of Cleveland would be in the negative category.

I would have thought he'd get mostly positive feedback.
