Forgive my memory, or lack of activity over the past few years, but I wanted to see some thoughts on this subject. We often debate number one picks, but what about the others? We know Kobe, Durant, MJ, KG, and many other big time stars were not picked number one, but turned out to be the best in class. So who is the best pick, all time, at each draft slot, 1-15?

Good lists, guys! It is crazy how many HOFers were drafted that late. I know there were circumstances behind each one, but still amazing to see with the clarity of our current hindsight.

Decided to check one of these. #21. I have Michael Finley as clearly better than Rondo, Billy Knight as arguably better, and Ryan Anderson as possibly being better by the end of his career.

My next guess at another player that isn't best is Murphy at #18. Right, Dumars > Murphy, Mark Jackson > Murphy, and Ricky Pierce close, and TY Lawson as a dark horse to beat out Murphy when he's done.

I'm sure most of your list is dead on...

Finley might be better than Rondo offensively, but Rondo embarrasses Finley defensively, and some of Rondo's lacking offense is because of his role on the Celtics with the Big Three. Rondo rebounds more and steals twice as much. He averages nearly three times as many defensive win shares as Finley, and his team won a championship. Also, Rondo was the fourth option on a team that's never been known for high scorers. This year, he'll score more without the big three in town.
Dumars was impressive, but Murphy outperformed him in points, assists, rebounds, steals, field goal percentage and free throw percentage. Basically, Dumars was a better three-point shooter. And Calvin Murphy did all that at 5'9" and 165 pounds. He made Iverson look bigger.

Andre Kirilenko at 24.

Derek Fisher has as much in intangible leadership skills as Kirilenko does in defense.

Kirilenko in his prime is 3x better than Fisher at his best.
