Hey guys, It is that time of year again! Once again we kick of the PSD NBA Off-Season Player Rankings. This is the 6th year I have done this on PSD and it always brings some great discussion and debate. Please keep things civil and discuss who you feel is most fitting and deserving of being voted in each poll.

A lot has changed since last season. Lebron James and the Miami Heat are back to back NBA champions after an exciting 7 game series win over the Spurs. Let start the discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round. I have also included the results of those last 5 years so everyone can see how much things have changed...Enjoy.

Due to some people complaining that the rule was not written for the PG poll; in order to be eligible for these rankings, players must of played in 10 or more games last season. Thank you.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best

Ill be pretty upset if LMA passes Dirk because I don't think he's a better player at either end.

I was so ready to make a case for Tim Duncan before remembering what position this was :laugh2:

anyways, this goes to Dirk and I don't so much argument against it.

Can we just say they all tie at 10 and be done with it. There really isn't even a franchise player at 4 spot right now, they're all just good, not great

I would have voted for David Lee, but knowing he is not gonna win, I'm gonna vote for Dirk so LMA doesn't win this one.

Yea I woulda put him #1 considering Love barely played last year... and wasn't great when he did. But I can see it either way =)

I don't think he should've been but it certainly isn't laughable because not much separates these top PF's atm. The position has really weakened the past 3-4 years with Dirk, Pau, ZBo, STAT declining.

I don't like Blake griffins game give me LMA+ dirk any day over him any day. Also lee has a case

Its funny because Blake is so athletic that I think some fans use it AGAINST him with the old "all he does is dunk" phrase.

But you know there are a lot of great athletes in the NBA, it takes more than that to be a good player. Good athletes don't put up 18, 8 & 4 in just 32mpg.

Blake is a very skilled big men, very good rebounder, and one of the best passing PF's in the game.

What's with all the LMA love? What does he do so well besides play a lot of minutes and score on a lottery team? Shoots below 50%, doesn't get to the line or rebound much... not a very good defender... not a very good passer... i just don't get it.

Give Blake 39mpg and he'd put up 22/11/5 and shoot 55%...

So why wasn't Carmelo Anthony on this thread? I keep hearing (always from Knicks fans) what a great power forward he is.

I would have voted for David Lee, but knowing he is not gonna win, I'm gonna vote for Dirk so LMA doesn't win this one.lee was great this year and is always consistent but it will prob play out... Dirk, LMA, zbo then lee. All the pf are very close and none are two players but Duncan who should be on this list. It's really a toss up for who is the better fit for your teams needs.

After Dirk and Lamarcus it's gets more interesting.

ZBo, Lee, Smoove, Milsap, Garnett, and West in some order should be the final 6

Not saying he should finish above any of them, but Boozer should at least be in the conversation for 9 or 10, with Millsap and West.

I can give you an argument for why he is, but I'll wait until that time. Little snippet though:

Boozer and West bother averaged 16 PPG on 52 TS% and 16 PER in the playoffs, but Boozer had a higher eFG% and he was a way better rebounder...

I dunno West and Milsap are both underrated as is. David West IMO is the leagues most underrated player

Even though he wouldn't deserve a vote at this point, Thaddeus Young deserves to be an option. I'll definitely take him over Ilyasova and Splitter, and maybe Ryan Anderson as well.

Completely jumping the gun here. May have a shot at the 10 spot, but there are many far more deserving players still on the board.

Defense.

You understand a huge part of defense is ending the possession with a rebound, correct? Without a rebound, the other team will just keep grabbing offensive rebounds and getting more shots. David West is an ok rebounder at best. Carlos Boozer is one of the better rebounders in the league (even with Joakim on his team). But I'll save this all for later.

Pacers are the best rebounding team in the league, which inherently lowers David West's rebounding numbers.

Pacers rebound much better with him on the floor than the Bulls do with Boozer.

Agreed. He came back slowly after his injury but showed signs that he is still Dirk Nowitzki late last season.
