I have a SLAM subscription which I do really enjoy.

I read a fair deal of grant land articles which sometimes I enjoy. Shaq's biography was awesome.

Just wondering if there was something I was missing that would be an awesome read or time waster before the season started?

Any suggestions?

Bill Simmons book is a pretty awesome read IMO. 500+ pages but its a breeze through. Extremely biased and Celtic-homerish but still a good read nonetheless.

Good site for images when you're bored. (although he's a Lakers fan :p ; and doesn't update that often)

The most recent sports book in general that I read and loved was Scorecasting: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0307591808

It basically challenges common conceptions in basketball and other sports and it's all very interesting/entertaining. Basically the Freakonomics of sports.

TrueHoop network is dope too: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop. Has links to all the team-specific blogs on the right.

Phil Jackson's Sacred Hoops is the first book I would recommend.

The NBA's Hangtime Podcast has interesting interviews. The hosts, Seikou Smith, Lane Whitaker, and Rick Fox are funny and bring a lot of knowledge to the table.
