As we have seen over the past two years, it is pretty fair to say that Shaq was the far more dominating player over Dwight but this shud be an interesting comparison...

SHAQ avg like 23ppg and 14rpg rookie year
HOWARD avg like 12 and 10 or something like that

had not JORDAN came back SHAQ/PENNY would have probably stayed and went to 3 or 4 straight FINALS

DWIGHT is searching for his 2nd FINALS trip in like 9-10years, SHAQ went to like 4-5 his first 10years

I would take SHAQ and never ever look back, SHAQ went to 4 FINALS in 5yrs with bean and I think he would have came close to same with PENNY, even old SHAQ went to ECF 2x in 3yrs with WADE, same way he started with bean pretty much, only not to get swept out 2x, SHAQ's impact is legendary

Why is this even a question. We're talking about arguably a top 3 big man all time against a very good center in his own regard, but not up there with him yet. Tbh, it would take Dwight some monster seasons in Houston if he wants to even join the conversation with Shaq.

I think Dwight is still the best in the league today, but as far as accomplishments go, he would need to be a shutdown defensive monstrosity along with an efficient 22/14 for me to consider holding him in the same regard as Shaq Diesel. If he happens to be the one to take down the Heat, I would also respect him far more.

Either way though, based off Dwight's past 9 years in the league, I take Shaq no question.

It certainly looks like it, but tbh I think I'd take 2 years of Lakers Shaq over Dwight's career thus far as well. Throw any all-star wing scorer next to him and surround him with '3 and D' players and bam. Guaranteed chip right there.

Better question is 5 years of Shaq or 10 years of David Robinson

This is even Simpler than all the others.

Shaq. Easily. What has Howard done in the 9 years he has been in 8 years he has played in the NBA?
Shaq did more in on his rookie contract than Howard.

Shaq has had a better career with the magic AND the lakers than Howard.

I would take the 2000 or 2001 shaq 5 strait years over any player all time.

I would take the 2000 or 2001 shaq 5 strait years over any player all time.

Not sure why? In 2000 he nearly got upset in the playoffs down 15 in the 4th against an older team with HCA. In 2001 he missed too many games. I want to see my star dominate the competition and not win because another team choke in the finale. Also want to see my player play in most games nearly every year.

I would take five years of Shaq over 10 of anyone and even 7 of Jordan.

I wouldnt say this because I cant remember some of how the real old guys were... From the 80s on though I agree

I wouldn't. Not only did Shaq not win with his original franchise, he was also a liability at the end of games. Not to mention you forget to mention the only guy more productive than Shaq was Jordan. Which is why he is #1 all time in PER in the season and playoffs, and #1 all time in WS/PER 48 minutes in the season and playoffs.
