Well, due to the fact Wade now has Lebron on his team it has contributed a lot towards his overall winning percentage in elimination games. The same can be said for Lebron, it's no surprise the 2 team mates come out as 1 & 2 on this. The fact that they have had to win 2 games in a row in multiple occasions in order to go onto the next round also contributes to stat padding this figure. Off the top of my head the Celtics, Pacers and Spurs series come into mind not to mention close out series games as well.

I believe Kobe's post Shaq/ pre gasol era hurts his winning percentage total, I'm stumped as to why Jordans % isn't higher. This was before my time but unless Jordan was eliminated every year in the first round prior to his championship run there is no reason for it to be under 50%

Not surprised to see Wade have better %'s and stats than Kobe in elimination games, but the Kobe fans will just throw the stats out of the conversation. They will not be happy at these #'s...Can't wait to hear what they come up with...

Where do you guys find all these stats? I was just googling to find out how many elimination games compared to playoffs games and didnt come up with much. But I think it's just as important of a stat for this discussion.

Jordan is 13/200
Lebron is 12/120?
Kobe?
Wade?

I like me some stats but this is pretty trivial if you think about it...

Elimination Game Stats – Kobe Bryant:
97’ G5 vs. UTA – 11 PTS, 2 RBS, 2 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 1 TOV, 4/14 FG, 0/6 3P, 3/3 FT
98’ G4 vs. UTA – 6 PTS, 1 RBS, 0 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK, 3 TOV, 2/2 FG, 0/0 3P, 2/2 FT
99’ G4 vs. SAS – 16 PTS, 5 RBS, 8 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 3 TOV, 7/16 FG, 1/3 3P, 1/2 FT

Kobe was a teen at this point, anything he could do in the playoffs is a + in my book.

Playoff comp isnt always equal either.... plenty to nitpick with the data here but its a good start. Still, its better to avoid elimination in my book.

Meaningless stats.

Of course....your production in elimination games says nothing about you as a player.

this is a discussion thread. why say anything if you have nothing to contribute with other than "meaningless stats" LOL

i mean how can you say Jordan was clutch without some kind proof.

There are lots of ways to look at these numbers. But w/l in game 7's is a team stat more than anything. Sure great players step up in elimination games, but the teams playing determine the outcome more than any player.

Statistically Lebron is the best
Iverson 3point shooting is pretty good
Dirk and Mike are also very good statistically
Winning is a team thing not an individual player thing.
Kobe is the worst player on here statistically and I am not the least bit surprised.(Trying to throw lakersiznumber1 a bone)

context and number of games played would be nice.

Wade cheats because the refs help him.

Sacramento games anyone?

Pretty pointless stats. To me these are virtually the same as if you take the stats taken from every game 1 each of these guys played in. There are going to be sample size issues, but for the most part the good players played well. The only thing I'll comment on other than that is just how good prime T-Mac was. I would love to live in an alternate universe where Grant Hill and T-Mac had healthy careers.

Depends on the team you're playing against/teammates you have. Trow out this stats, they're meaningless.

T-Mac had a decent run of health. If they both could have been healthy in Orlando, that would be something

I thought Lebron and Dirk were chokers until they won rings when they miracously turned clutch. [end sarcasm]

Ignore those guys, but I'm willing to bet Amos1er comes here and bashes anyone not named Kobe who is getting props

This was before my time but unless Jordan was eliminated every year in the first round prior to his championship run there is no reason for it to be under 50%

you're only stumped by JORDAN pct because of the mediahype machine, he was owned by bad boys and DREXLER and others use to have they way with him, or more equal than now how its perceived

IVERSON is the man for even making the list playing with a core of mckie/snow, mckie won 6th man of year with 11.7ppg, wow

Btw am I the only Heat fan who is in shock at the ft % wade shoots in elimination games? We give him hell all year round when he misses ft's at crucial moments but when it might be the final game of the season for him he mans up and makes it lol

owned? he had 4 bad games against the pistons, 4. this is the very reason why that whole rings argument is ********. the man played his *** off, his team was crap, so it didnt matter how well he played.

and when did DREXLER own jordan and in what capacity? last i checked he average 35 ppg on 52% on POR in the finals

Jordan did not have many games where his team faced elimination after his early years.

For his career not just elimination games there was never a more clutch player than this guy in my eyes. I could not stand the guy but he forced me to respect him.

I hated Jordan then. I still can not stand the guy now but media hype machine? The guy was the best player of my lifetime. Drexler would never say that. As far as the badboys go when its 3-4 players setting up in a great defense to guard 1 player (never mind foul him) I do not think that reflects poorly on the 1 player.

There's a lot of things those stats don't factor in. Injuries, competition, depth of the team, experience, whether or not their team was the underdog.....

I personally am more impressed with AI than anybody on that list when I think about the JV team that he played on.
