If my boss asked me to call him king i would think about it because he pays me. What is your reason for calling Lebron king?

He doesn't strike me as the kind of dude to have this kind of position, but I guess we'll see what happens.

It makes sense. He is the most recognizable player in the league

:laugh::laugh: CP3 for NBAP Prez and Blake as NBAP VP cuz they do more commerical! Every player will have insurance and a new Kia.

Seriously speaking, I'd rather have someone like Tim Duncan or Ray Allen.

I'm pretty sure his peers don't call him King James.

I have no clue how he'd do relating to finances and all that, but I think he'd definitely be a capable leader. Also, it would be a whole 'nother load for him to carry while his career's only going to get harder so I don't know if he could handle that responsibility either.

But those guys will most likely be retiring within the next 3-4 years. They probably want someone a little younger, probably in the 29-30 range. I definitely agree players like that would be a better fit though.

Jeremy Lin for NBAPA. Harvard degree in Economics? Yeah.

I actually think Dwayne Wade would make a better union president than Lebron right now? He's not going to allow the owners to push him or the union around but is also willing to negotiate and discuss terms.

It would be a tremendous tool for the players. Not because he's super smart or anything, but because having the best player as the head of the union and at the bargaining table all the time has to be a tremendous asset.

These players aren't ever the ones worrying about the legality of things or whatever...it doesn't matter how smart they are. They have lawyers for that. LeBron's pull as the head would be more than anyone else in the league, period.

:badidea::facepalm::facepalm:

Great the prez of the NBAPA is a guy that did that despicable decision thing and thinks it's better for stars to team up rather than trying to compete against them to win. Great, can't wait to see the direction of the association with that guy in charge.

Since CP3 was the Vice i always figured he would want to step into the Pres role. Maybe wants to focus right now?

No offense but it should be someone a little more mature and intelligent. Shane Battier would be perfect.

Regardless of who it is they aren't going to be making the legal arguments and really doing the hard negotiating. It doesn't matter how smart they are. LeBron's power, authority and pull would mean way more in that role than Battier's Duke degree and articulate speaking. Him being in the room and having that title creates more pull than what anyone else can bring to the table.

If he runs, he'll win.

I think Metta World Peace should be the president instead. Makes it a lot more entertaining.

I'd rather have someone like Jermery Lin. You know...a player that actually went to college...and a good school like Harvard...and someone who can talk and speak normally in public.

Someone said Shane Battier. I like that idea a lot.
