View Full Version : SAS: "LeBron interested in Knicks"

AI
07-30-2013, 06:23 PM
Stephen A Smith, on ESPN radio, says Lebron has "let work seep out" that he will "strongly consider" signing w/ #Knicks as a FA in 2 years

Should have been *word in that previous tweet... Yes, SAS was claiming it depends how the "Knicks position themselves" over the next 2 years

So we can fully anticipate the NY tabloids restarting those annoying "countdown to LeBron" clocks...

If it gets us a ring, then **** yeah idgaf if he's the anti-christ, he'll do what nobody else in NY has been able to do for almost the past half century.

I think Melo complements Lebron far better than Wade does, because he's the type of player that would definitely capitalize on Lebron's playmaking. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, but Melo would be the best second option in the NBA if given the chance. As a first option, he definitely pales in comparison to some of the other superstars, but I definitely see him maintaining at least 24 ppg with Lebron here.

That being said, it's highly doubtful he actually comes to NY. Much as I hope he would, he's much better off with Pat Riley running the show than Jimmy D.

I'm pretty sure LBJ is just thinking about winning next year. He's been in the finals three years in a row, which, since Magic retired, only three MVP's have accomplished: Jordan, Shaq and Kobe. LBJ is in some rare company. If he makes if 4 years in a row, it will be the first time that has happened since Bill Russell was playing. I don't think LBJ is thinking about free agency. I think he is thinking about making history.

When free agency hits, I'm sure he will go to the team that puts him in the best position to win, regardless of where that might be, but as for now, he seems very happy to be in Miami and is likely focused on winning. It's not like when he was in Cleveland where he wasn't winning and he had time to think about places where he could win.

Lbj would be already locked up with a team after this upcoming season ends... So why is this even a story, if Lbj opts in with the HEAT after this upcoming season is over, he wouldn't fit this 2yr time line (because it will be in year 3 he would be a free agent), if he signs a new contract, he doesn't fit in with this time line either.

Melo & LBJ both have opt outs after this year, but if they don't opt out they'll both be UFA's in 2015. Knicks will have TONS of cap space in 2015.

I was thinking the same thing. I am getting over my dislike for LBJ so it does not have to do with that. But pandering to these team hoppers is a little ridiculous. It diminishes the idea of a team and the comradery that goes along with it (obviously just my personal opinion).

DOLAN would give LEBRON the keys to the city and all his personal assets underneath the table

they would do whatever it takes to bring multiple titles with the 3-5yr window and DOLAN could care less about a luxury tax, see past yrs for proof, I know its a new CBA but he will still spend for talent like BRON/MELO

we all saw what he gave up to get MELO

Its between MIA-CLE-NYC-LA

Darkhorse to steal him like a thief in the night, ROCKETS-MOREY

HARDEN can easily let BRON do his thing like he let KD/RUSS, and HOWARD will thrive with BRON

I totally agree. Not only that, but New York is a great city to live in as young person, let alone famous young person. Furthermore, if he can win a championship or two with them, he brings another franchise to greatness and becomes beloved even more. If LeBron became a Knick alot of Heat fans will convert to Knicks fans

James fans sure. Heat fans no...At least none I know of even here at PSD. I'm a huge James fan, and even in this unrealistic hypothetical, while I would still like him and enjoy watching his dominance, I would never in a million years root for the Knicks...Or Lakers for that matter. Heat through and through only. I certainly wouldn't hate James if he so freely chooses to leave the Heat. Disappointed? Of course.

Heat fans like to think that Knick fans think this is gonna happen so they have something to troll about.

The real hardcore Knicks fans don't want Lebron here. He's a diva and we rather win it without him. Heat fans don't even really exist just look at how empty their parade was so if Lebron leaves Miami...The Heat will be back to being like the Marlins with no fans and no wagon for them to jump on.

Thank you i dont want that front runner here he is exactly like his fans. He will only come here if we can put together a big 3. I kid from cleveland is some how a yankee fan a cow boy fan and was a bulls fan. So he basically was a fan of the team that won in ever sport and has no loyalty to his hometown as a player or fan. Some how he is a fan of ohio state football since they are the only elite team from his town. Front run much?

450 thousand people outside for parade and they coaches or players don't even stop at the front of arena to talk to them. They go directly inside. Pretty good considering they only get to see the buses roll by. And you'd take Lebron in a second. Just because you know it's not gonna happen you say dumb things like this. NY would roll out the red carpet for Lebron.

The next time Knicks fans ask why there is some perceived double standard when it comes to their players look no further than this post.... see for yourself that you do it to yourself.

LeBron can't be the GOAT now... but if he was a Knick.....pshhhh... all limits are off easy. He would easily be waaaay better than Jordan was.

Gallinari = next Dirk as a Knick. Amare = best PF in the NBA as a Knick. Carmelo = Durant as a Knick. Shumpert = future all-star as a Knick... and so on.

I don't but it, but I guess if LeBron wants to play for your team, you let him. The thing is though, I'm not sure I want him here. He could have came to NY originally and been a savior but instead went to the Heat. The Heat. The team that Pat Riley quit the Knicks via fax for. He wins two championships and now he wants to come to NY? I don't want hired guns. Especially if the hired guns are the top players on the team. But, like I said, I guess you can't pass him up. Lebron should stay in Miami, cuz it's only going to hurt his image (unless he joined a crap team).

He'll be known as the guy who continuously jumped ships to win ships. Even if he went back to Cleveland that would be kind of shady.

Really Lebron, stay in Miami till the wheels fall off. Win 3 or more rings, and you're probably at MJ's "table."

As a Jets fan you couldn't be more wrong. The Jets had one of the longest active sell out streaks in the NFL which just recently got snapped I believe in the past few years. The Jets always sold out in the early 2000's. They were pretty good and if it wasn't for a few missed FG's could have been in the AFC Championship prior to Farve with Pennington.

You're flat out wrong that the Jets didn't fill the stands prior to Farve.
