Oh, I'd prefer 2 per 6 IP, but I agree with the general tenor of your comment. 3 ER in 6 IP is hardly "bad". I'm not sure that I'd call it a truly "quality start" (regardless of what the definition of the QS stat says), but 3 ER/6 IP is manageable most games when you've got an offense like the Red Sox.

3 ER over 6 IP usually keeps your team in the game, i will take this start than Lackey getting shelled every time. Can't expect 2 ER or less every time he goes out there for sure.

Lav, having seen the replay a couple of times, I think that the runner might have been able to score if he'd slid into home rather than charging home plate like he was trying to bowl over the catcher. The throw was high, and by coming in high and hard, the runner only made it easy for the catcher to tag him. if he'd come in sliding and low, it would have been much harder for the catcher to make the catch and get the glove down to make the tag.

Thus, IMO, the runner should take some of the blame in this instance. I think that he could have scored if he slid.

I thought Workman was to make room for Peavy?

Peavy is still #44 so wonder what number Bradley will wear when he comes back. Also Wright for Workman?

Hope Dempster can eat up some innings today or else the pen might be a bit out of it.

Yep same with me.

We are better off trying to dump Dempster in the waiver period for nothing but cap relief and using Workman as our 5th starter. Then picking up a good RH RP.

Last time I said that everyone was saying how Dempster was an asset but to me he is not better than Workman and at this point is a LR guy

Two years, but yeah. Wouldn't mind seeing if anyone would take him for nothing and we try out Workman as our starter the rest of the way and have Rosa come out of the pen the rest of the way.

Atleast Dempster ain't a cancer to the clubhouse. And he's more valuable than you think, helping change the culture of this ball club.

I also seen an interview between he and Jenny Dell... saying that when his baseball career is over, he strives to be a shepherd in Scotland. LMFAO (This was back in May)

Ahh well, every team needs an innings eater in blowout games.

Average pitchers have terrible games. *****ing about every pitcher that has had a terrible stretch/game means you have *****ed about 99% of the pitchers that you have seen pitch for this organization. He was fantastic in June, helping save our season with Clay out. No one was lauding him then. He was also solid in July minus one start also vs the Mariners.

Nomar, I haven't seen Nava's hit yet, but under normal circumstances, a ball hit to the base of the CF wall might be caught, in which case it would have been a walk-off sac fly. I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure that they're both more happy about getting the "W" than the "2b".

Tell me about it! I looked in on the game when it was 3-1, then turned away for a few minutes and missed the Seattle GS. So I ignored the game up until Drew's AB in the bottom of the 9th and was stunned to see that the game was tied 7-7!

Since May... he has allow a lot of HR, walks.

He had a 3.55 era in June. If you look at his gamelogs since July he's had two terrible starts vs Seattle, 1 bleh start vs Yankees, and two great starts vs the Angels and Orioles. I don't understand why people hate on him so much, like any average starter he's going to have rough starts every now and then.
