Now the Lakers have no D whatsoever. Stupid move imo. Great guy always brought his heart each and every game unlike Dwight. He should go to NY......Play for the Knicks. They'll appreciate his hard work and he would be going back home. Good Luck to you Metta.....We will miss you. Thanks for the huge game 7 against the hated C's.....No way we win without you always know that !!! Kobe checked out and you took over. A memorable game. You auctioned off your only Championship ring for charity. This says it all. Win another one for yourself. Take care # 37.

He will surely get claimed on waivers even if he threatens retirement. IMO.

If not knicks time!

If Cuban picks this dude up I'm going to go ****ing ballistic.

How does the auction period work again? If someone claims him before he hits waivers do they claim his full salary? Or do they just auction for his services and whatever number wins out is the number that team is on the hook for?

I hate that the Lakers FO and coach has no clue on how to build a championship contending team. We literally have no defensive strategy and no defensive players on our roster anymore. It's going to be another painful season.

Can't believe the Knicks selected that French dude name Frederic Weiss 1n the 1999 draft
Ahead of the hometown boy Artest, that never showed up.

Dallas, I think is the only threat to him not clearing...

ATL, PHI, DET, ORL, SAC, MIL, DAL, CHA, UTA, CLE, PHX are the teams under...

I think most teams would prefer not to deal with the headache. Cuban I think would do it just to piss us off after stealing JKidd last year.

Its a different side of the fence. Lakers are the ones shelling out the dough. Dwight is the one receiving it. I hear what your saying but you can't look at the player and the franchise as equals in that regard.

Ron never wanted to leave LA. He's stated that he wanted to retire with us. Sadly, it just made too much sense financially not to do it

He's said Clippers or Knicks. Both teams could use him but for us he would be the backup PF. I'd love him for his D and toughness.

Kinda hope Jamison and Metta both join the clippers and get to stay in the city, then LO comes home. Metta could play behind Jordan so to speak as he can still defend the post damn well. Jamsion could play behind Blake and provide scoring with Jordan there to block shots behind him

AS much as I want him to come to the knicks

1) Still feel like someone will claim him off of waivers

2) Even if he clears he might go to the clippers just so he doesn't have to uproot his family.

Isn't this the same Lakers GM (Mitch Kupchak) that build the championship rosters of 2009 and 2010? I know Jim Buss is now in charge but isn't the GM still the same?

Yeah, won't be missed. He's still got "decent" defense, but on a D'Antoni-led squad it amounts to zilch.
And I definitely won't miss those brainless shots he would take. Aside from the 3 in Game 7, they missed.
And who the hell wears a NYK hat whilst wearing a LAL shirt? Does NY even have any money to sign him?

The Lakes are still paying his salary $7mil, whatever the knicks pay is just deducted he would sign for the vet if he clearsd

with the 14th pick in the NBA draft, the Knicks select Frederic Weis

not Ron Artest, the 15th pick to the bulls, from Queens and St. Johns

not Manu or AK-47, two of the other international players drafted. not even Gordan Giricek, the 4th/4 int'l players from that year.

you just watched AK-47 sign with the Nets for peanuts. bring Ron home, he never should have left
