Awesome! He can retire where it all started! Or where he became relevant anyway!

Good for Billups. While he didn't mean much to the Clips on the court, he was still a valuable member of the team for his leadership and guidance

It just shows that Joe Dumars is serious. Billups can still ball for his age. This will give an opportunity for Brandon Knight and Rodney Stuckey to improve. Smart move. I have a feelin the Pistons are about to make a blockbuster move.

He will retire there like Ben for good will. Heck they may let Rip comeback and retire there as well as Prince too.

The pay is the thing as it was said he wasn't taking the vet min on espn la radio when meeting with teams. He wasnt willing to accept that

Pretty awesome. Pistons will be fun to watch this year. Frontline still doesn't make any sense offensively but I like their talent across the board.

But I will say - everyone is gonna praise Chauncey for this but its clear he went where the money was - it just so happened to be in Detroit so everyone is gonna get all sentimental and ****.

Good....now Mike Woodson can stop trying to lure old folks out of the retirement home...

On another note....btwn Cavs getting bynum and Det getting J.Smith and Billups....there are a bunch of fringe playoff teams in the east now....conference gets a lil tougher....

A fitting place to retire after having his best years there. Detroit quietly putting together a team

And Joe Dumars isn't close to being done... we will be making trades now.

Yes I'm assuming Monroe will be moved for a wing

If Monroe Co-existed with Big Ben and Prince a few years ago, and Maxi and Prince most of last year, I'm sure he can survive with Drummond and Smoove. I doubt Monroe goes anywhere.

People keep saying that but I think of it like this (if the coaches are smart enough):

If they each play roughly 32 MPG -Smith played 35 last year, Monroe 33 and Drummond 20- then you will always have 2 of the 3 on the court and never all three at the same time. That sounds pretty good to me.

PS - I hate Smith playing the 3

That awkward moment when Chauncey is so old, he regressed to Billup.

Nice signing, hopefully he stays healthy. He could just set the big guys up in places where they could score easily. And help the team prevent Smith chucking up a 3.

The pistons should have never dismantled that core.

That team has had no direction ever since.

Spurs kept together their core and they went to game 7 of the nba finals.

I don't get why people use them as an example. Tim Duncan and Tony Parker are still great players. MVP caliber.

Sheed is retired, Big Ben is retired, Rip was just waived, Billups just signed 2 year $5M contract, and Prince is still just a role player. When was the last time any of them were great players?

smith&wesson

billups rip and prince would make for a pretty solid bench if they got them all to come back.

I thought billups would have been a good pick up for golden state. He would have been a great mentor for curry and you could put him in late in games situations,a spot where curry struggled with turnovers.
