Who would you root for? Please only non fans answers and keep it clean. I ask this because face the facts James/Howard are the 2 most hated guys in the league and neither deserve to be but are.

I hate Howard. Not for leaving, but for not picking the warriors to win a ring. At least we could have gotten Barnes.

I don't see the Rox making the finals just yet.. That being said, IF they did, I'd bet on Miami in 6.

EDIT: Didn't read the OP properly lol I'd root for the Houston over Miami

I want LBJ to go down as one of the best of all-time so I'd root for the Heat. I don't particularly wanna see Howard succeed but I wouldn't be against it.

Rockets are getting way overhyped after this signing. I don't even see them getting HCA out West let alone make the Finals. Spurs will be the best team out West again this year. Rockets are still way too young and need a reliable PG. A couple years when they sprinkle some vets on the roster and get some more experience, they will have a nice run as a contender. Not next season though.

I'm not sure. Harden and Parsons are two of my 10 favorites. But I'd probably still root for LeBron.

Lol yea sorry but there is no way it would work with the fans of the heat/Rockets. James/Howard are the 2 most hated men in basketball...They shouldnt be but they are and no way their fanbase is gonna hate on them but everyone else will if both teams make the finals I am curious on who the average basketball fan would hate less. I hope this thread could stay open but it is the NBA forum and in all honesty I think 5 pages might be max

The Rockets won't be in the finals. Howard is vastly overrated. Rockets are the fifth best team in the conference at best.

I would root for the Rockets. No matter how hard I root for them heat still win series easy. Lebron will score at will against Parsons and lebron will shut Harden down. Lebron is still the most hated person in the NBA by far.

I would root for Harden and the rockets since i think Harden got shipped off too soon from OKC. He missed his first great shot at a title because of an organizational decision to keep Ibaka over him (which i can't fault them for making at the time). I think, however, they could have gotten more for Ibaka and had a better shot going forward with Harden and Durant.

LeBron has brought 2 finals championships to Miami. I'm pretty sure they love him there. Cleveland has relevance again with a very young, upstart phenom PG in Kyrie. They'll win a playoff game, let alone compete championship-wise before Orlando and maybe even LAL. I personally hold no hatred for Dwight but i can see how he has less of a personal fanbase than LBJ.

I would no question root for the Heat simply because I dislike Howard and respect Lebron and Wade.

Heat.

Parsons is way overrated. D12 hasn't been the beast he should be. Harden is great. Beverley sucks.

Dwight does not put Houston in the finals at all. They need to trade Asik and Lin and both of those guys are poison pill contracts so it will be harder.

Probably the Rockets. I actually respect their organisation and fans. Heat are an irrelevant small market franchise that have suddenly become relevant because of LeBron & Wade. Plus the majority of their "fans" are bandwagon jumping trolls.

As NBA players I much prefer LeBron over Howard though.

Kinda like how the Bulls were only relevant because of MJ.

they don't have enough ball handling or depth to make it there. I think the warrior will beat them in the 2nd round at the 4/5 matchup.

I'll say it again, Houston is not coming out of the West. Howard cannot carry a team, we saw this last year. Who remembers OKC vs the Heat? Harden choked big time, also, Houston is trying to get rid of Lin... Howard with no PG? I will take Warriors with a higher seed and going further than the Rockets next year.

He carried the Magic to the finals but to stay on topic... I don't care who it is in the finals against the Heat (if they make it again) I will always root for the team playing the HEAT.

I agree that I don't think they're the top of the west just yet. I'd still have the Spurs, Clippers above them. They have a shot at OKC, Memphis and they're about even with GS. Not to count out Denver either, but I think I'd edge them over Denver. I wouldn't be surprised if they made the finals, but I wouldn't be too surprised if they didn't either. You're completely right that they still need a few more complimentary pieces around them. I still view the Spurs as the ideal team and the Rockets aren't quite at their level yet, with chemistry and team composition at least.

I like the Rockets organization as a whole, and their core group of guys are just awesome people. I was sad to see Lin head to Houston (glad we didn't match that ridiculous offer though) and I'm still generally a fan of his. Not to mention Dwight's a nice guy and definitely gets too much hate for "not being loyal" to an organization he's only been with for about a year. Harden is a bro and Parsons is the same. Great team and I think they have a bright future with a couple possible rings. But I think I'd have to root for the Heat, mostly because it would be far too annoying to deal with more stupid Lebron criticisms for a whole year.

While I don't particularly like Lebron the person (don't really dislike him either) we have the opportunity to watch one of the greats ever so if the Sixers aren't winning titles I have no problem with them going to Lebron.

Dwight does not put Houston in the finals at all. They need to trade Asik and Lin and both of those guys are poison pill contracts so it will be harder.

After seeing what Hibbert did to the Heat, Houston's best chance would be to have both Dwight and Asik beat the Heat up inside offensively and defensively. They could double up on Miami in rebounds every game.
