There goes those small markets again over paying players and setting a crazy financial standard for the other free agents left. Next CBA they'll right at the table complaining about the larger markets when their the ones handing out bad contracts since the last CBA.

Don't quite get it but I didn't follow him enough. If nothing else, it should have been a non guaranteed 4th year.

He actually had a really good year. 11 ppg on .600 TS 14 ppg per 36.

This is a worse signing than Splitter. I guess Washington is determined to suck and never have cap space to re-build. Webster did have a nice year but I figuered he'd get the mini MLE from a contender at best. He makes no sense being overpaid on a bad team.

Too many years for a guy who has only shown small glimpses of effective basketball.

Yep, it's ridiculous.

He was finally getting healthy, and once John Wall returned to the lineup, Webster saw his production increase. He was actually fairly important to them and retaining him is a must if they want to return to the post season.

I had high hopes for Webster, this was during the time when I thought every HS kid coming had to have great potential, I really thought he would be the next Ray Allen. He can still be a decent starter in this league but yea, this might have been a bad move if it hurts their cap next year.

Martell Webster is a very good player and this contract is probably exactly where his market value is for teams.

He scored 11 points a game off of 600 TS percentage. Played gritty defense, and had a very low turnover rate.

Wizards were smart to retain him.

Webster had a great year and is a good fit. But definitely thought this was an overpay when I saw it, I was think 4/16 was more appropriate.

Exactly. The market value for role players in the nba is laughable

Guppyfighter

Martell played good defense and scored extremely efficient. Wizards won't regret anything because he's a good player in the right system.

Five million a year is a bad deal to you guys?

I am guessing everyone here would not sign anyone on their teams except draft picks.

He's was at least their second best player last year. He's not a bad signing.

I can see the Wizards being a 5-6 seed next year.

At least? Hes definitely not pushing for first.

Emeka has a better case IMO.

"At least" could be subbed with "only" in the sarcastic context that I was using in reference to those who think that he got overpaid. As for Emeka, I don't see it personally. Enlighten me?
