$1.5M. I could see us trying him at 2B where he could potentially be considered to be the heir to Pedroia one day. If we are to extend Pedroia 4-5 years he would theoretically for well as a 2B depth wise. Obviously it's impossible to say at this point.

He's 16, impossible to put a position on him, though the kids already huge and expected to get bigger so he's probably a corner OF or 1b. We've been linked to him for a long time, so no surprise. He's considered the best or one of the best bats.

LHP Emmanuel DeJesus (VZ), #24 on MLB.com’s Top 30 int’l prospects list, agrees in principle to a deal with #RedSox for $780K

Boom.

Nice. And yeah devers doesn't move well even at 16 so position is obviously in question. At 6ft it doesn't rule much out tho besides the obvious cf ss and c

wow this is a big kid. I'd say he a future 1b, or OF. Looked at his review, and one scout said he lumbers around, and would be better at another position other that 3b.

BA has him listed at 6'1" 215, which is HUGE for his age. Xander weighs less. A lot of bad weight too.

So the Sox have brought on BA's #3 and #24 ranked Int'l prospects. Not bad at all. That leaves them with approx. $900K left to spend on any others.

Possibly more if they acquired extra pool space via trade. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, you can go over by 5%.

Ya I'm pretty happy with the draft and the international free agents. When will these kids report to camp??? do their parents come with them? do they drop out of school??

They go to the Red Sox academy in the DR. They're likely a few years from making it to the US. It's rare to see guys like Almanzar and Vinicio make it to the states before they turn 18.

Continue to stockpile talent. Next up: Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez and Dariel Alvarez?

Both don't count against our international bonus pool.

He doesn't look 16. He looks like Frank Thomas.
