COOLbeans

Has to be tanking because that's a terrible trade for the Warriors and especially from a basketball standpoint and a good deal for Toronto.

I don't know why.. David Lee was more than stellar for them. If not for Dwight, maybe Bynum?

FriedTofuz

This just proves the raptors are tanking. Lee was averaging very good numbers before his injury.

http://basketball.******.com/wiretap/228499/Warriors-Pursuing-Trade-Of-David-Lee

The Golden State Warriors are searching for a trade of David Lee, who has three seasons and $44 million remaining on his contrac.t

The Warriors offered Lee in a deal for Andrea Bargnani, but the Toronto Raptors elected to send him to the New York Knicks.

The Warriors also have offered Lee along with Brandon Rush to the Portland Trail Blazers for LaMarcus Aldridge.

This just sucks for Raptor Fans. Getting David Lee would put Toronto A step closer to being a better playoff team. This just sucks. More years of losing culture and then people wonder why no players want to come here.

maybe NBA GM's value Bargarni more than us fans...maybe they think all he needs is to get out of Toronto..that would've been a much better deal for the Raptors than what the Knicks offered...

Interesting. Could the Knicks be planning on flipping Bargnani for Lee?

shep33
07-01-2013, 01:52 AM
If the Raps didn't take Lee, then I think Rudy and/or Demarr are next to go. Raps willing to spend money, and Lee easily puts them in the playoffs. Masai looking for the rebuild, like a good GM would do in that situation.

Great GM

I agree, I think he's worth it, but LAL has only Nash on the books for 2014, and nobody under for 2015. That 12 mill for a 32 year old Lee might be a little steep.

He's loved in Gstate, he should stay

I'd be stoked to get Aldridge for lee and rush. I like lee's all around game (his d could improve but not as bad as made out to be) and pre injury rush was a great role player for us but Aldridge is a couple years younger and the probably the better player in the long run.

Lee for bargs is BS. Its BS the only way they'd offer that was if a deal for Howard was done.

Also to whoever said lee and Barnes or Klay and maybe a pick for love is worse than the cavs offer is wrong. Lee gives them someone that can do a lot of things that love did for them but unlike love he doesn't hurt all the time (love is the better player tho) Barnes or Klay offer young player that wolves could use. They haven't had a legit sg for what seems like ever. Barnes is also a fantastic young prospect. One of those two players are better than the Thompson and waiters combined. Wolves could go full rebuild faster with the two young players and two picks but the warriors offer offers future and current help. And if they add in the first I see the wolves def taking that offer (assuming love demands out)

golden state offered lee in a package for toronto's andrea bargnani, sources said, but the raptors made a deal with the new york knicks to shed the final two years, $22.5 million on bargnani's contract.

knicks better trade bargnani for lee right now.

If it was a two part deal where we traded for Howard first then bargs as a stretch 4 I'd be ok with it cause at least there was a reasoning for it. No Howard would mean they either think lee is done or cutting cap space which if the latter I'd be right there with you.

Guppyfighter

ManRam

This just proves the raptors are tanking. Lee was averaging very good numbers before his injury.

I don't think it's tanking...I think it's just trying to be a bit more financially conscious. Lee is a good player, but his contract isn't very team-friendly. Trading for Lee could help get them in the playoffs, but they wouldn't ever be able to get out of 7-8th seed limbo. It would be swapping a bad contract for an even more burdensome one...even though Lee is better.

Lee is solid, but this frees up more minutes for Amir and Jonas. That's a solid duo and they're a little bit less in cap hell now. I don't think it's "tanking"...because bringing in big contracts for talent upgrades isn't always worth it.

knicksfan1969
07-01-2013, 10:55 AM
Don't be surprised if Knicks come in with something, bring back Lee and ship Chandler out west.

Eagles4Lyfe
07-01-2013, 11:10 AM
hahaha how the heck are the Raptors tanking for not taking Lee??
I want a PF upgrade over Amir because I think he's best suited as a third big but not for someone like Lee who's contract would just put us in more of a cap hell than we already are in.

As a wolves fan I might entertain an offer of Klay and Lee for love.

Wolves would have a very nice starting lineup

Rubio
Klay
Ak(resigns as rumored?)
Lee
Pek

Little weak on defense but def a playoff team

If the warriors get Dwight for Bogut and Barnes I could see them doing that as love is the best stretch 4 in the game now and a big 3 of curry love and Dwight is better than curry, Klay, lee and Dwight

Lee for Bargs would be very good for the NYK. If that is still on the table, you just traded Marcus Camby, Steve Novak and picks for DLEE. Yeah that works for Knicks fans.

Who would want lee and his horrible contract

You say that like he's Amare Stoudemire or something. He's a current All Star PF who led the league in 20/10 games this past season. He also has a less than max contract for 3 seasons, making nearly 9 million a year less than Amare in 2014/15. There are certainly teams that would want his services.
