I get why Kobe and Wade are all-time great players and have respect for the skill and professionalism they bring to their craft. I understand why Kobe Bryant goes to the line as much as he does. I understand why Dwyane Wade goes to the line as much as he does, too. They are constantly changing speeds, using shot-fakes and other moves to get their opponents off-balance and sometimes into the air. That’s why they draw as many fouls as they do – because defenders cannot stay in front of them.

LeBron James does not have the same skills.

You never see LeBron changing speeds. LeBron goes the free throw line as much as he does because he takes his 6’9,” 270-pound frame and charges the basket at full speed. There is no deception, there is no balance and there is very little skill involved. Players like LeBron do not work to go the line, they are constantly bailed out by officials.

if fouls were called 100% fair guys like lebron and blake would be at the line 15 times a game. bailed out? you mean sent on his *** with no call. because thats what was happening in the finals.

by the way those moves wade does its used to avoid contact to get a clear look at the basket, and kobe is a jump shooter, you're so confused lmao.

Lol LBJ also takes giant strides and is very good at taking awesome angles to the basket...

What the hell do you mean by you never see him changing speeds?

How many times did Lebron win a regular season MVP and not win anything in the Finals?

What do regular season achievements have to do with the playoffs/Finals?

You're right, and Shaq sucks by your logic. Shaq wasn't skilled, he just outmuscled anyone.

WTF is the point of sports if there isn't a winner.

More so why bother talking on a sports forum if you don't want to talk about the GOAT.

I don't know either. I guess they are trying to be the grown up in a forums site. Forums were created to discuss. What's the point of discussion when you're just going to go "A and B are great players, end of story"?

I think if you have to pick which 1 of the 2 had the better 3 yr run in the playoffs, I think it was Kobe for the simple fact that he performed better in his 2008 Finals loss against Boston than LeBron did in his 2011 Finals loss against Dallas. That's probably the only way to decide the tie-breaker, seeing as if the these guys did lose in that 1 yr, how badly did they perform.

LeBron (17.8 PPG) simply did not show up in the 4th quarters of those games against Dallas, and he was the 3rd leading scorer in the 2011 finals on his own team (behind Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh) and 6th overall in that series as Dirk Nowitzki and even a role player like Jason Terry (18.0 PPG) averaged more than LeBron in the 6 games of those finals.

As people said, both are great players, but if you had to choose a more consistent 3 yr playoff run, it would be Kobe, because LeBron 2011 playoff ending was just really really bad from what I discussed.

I have no idea....wait maybe cos this is basketball. A TEAM sport. You dont play one on one. So if two great players perform on this same level the "supporting cast" will decide about who wins.

There is no ONE true champion at the time. It is a TEAM of 12 to 15 players with their coaches etc. Would Heat do it this year without Ray Ray big 3 or Shane big game 7? No. Same way Kobe would not have won it without Pau or Shaq. There arent just great players, those are great teams. It would be great if you could ever see a game between those two teams in their prime.
