Go Heat!

Is there some unwritten rule for mods that only a mod of a team in that game can create the game thread? Only ask cause during the playoffs there were game threads going up the day before the game and now it seems like only stebo does it.

He can't do it alone; no on can. I think most expect him to step up...the bigger question to me at least is what the rest of them will do. Will Wade be effective? Can Bosh continue the passion and determination that's translated into decent play? Will someone else step up and hit some threes? Will their DEFENSE (which has been their problem, not offense) play well? It's not all about LeBron, regardless of what we want it to be.

I mean, in 2008 for example, against the Celtics he went for 45-5-6 and they lost for a variety of reasons that mostly had nothing to do with him. In 2006 against the Pistons (LeBron wasn't the player he is now, but still) he dropped 27 points on 24 shots, which isn't great but isn't horrible, and they lost by 18 and only scored 61 points because the rest of his team made NINE field goals (on 41 shots). Great players CAN be flawless and still lose.

The pressure is on him, but it's on everyone too. I know we single him out because he's the best but there is so much more to this game than just LeBron. And LeBron playing aggressively doesn't assure them a win. The Heat have lost to lesser teams this year even with LeBron going NOVA.

And conversely, there have been tons of times when some of the all time greats have won huge elimination games when playing terribly.

Ideally that is the way it should work out. But when you are a great player and the star of the team, all the blame goes on you. For instance, Magic Johnson averaged 18 pts, 14 assist, 8 boards, and 3 steals per game while shooting 56% from the field in the 1984 finals. The Lakers lost to the Celtics in 7 games and Magic "earned" the nickname "Tragic Johnson" due to his costly turnovers at the end of a couple games. James is no different from any other great. All the glory or all the critique will be laid at his feet win or lose.

I predict that the Heat will follow the same path as the Lakers, winning Game 6 and 7. Blowing Game 6 cost the Spurs the title IMO.

Ugh, go Spurs. Finish this crap!

If Miami wins?

:sigh:

What I hope most for is a close game. A blowout would be a travesty. Let's not revisit Game 6 of Celtics/Lakers 2008.

Will the young Timmy D show up again and get 25 points by the first half? what about Ginobili? ahhhhgggggg...

If the Spurs win is Duncan > Kobe. 4 rings, constant all star, 16 straight years of 50+ and he never had Shaq. This is really going to hurt Kobe's LEGacy

That would make 5 for Timmy. The 'big 3' only has 3 together, but Timmy got one with Avery Johnson, Sean Elliot, Dave Robinson and co over my Knicks in '99.

I think one of these teams blew their load last game. I don't think we see anything close to the masterpiece that was last game, I think one team 'runs away with it' late and seals the deal with a few minutes to spare (although it looked like that happened last game with seconds to spare and look what happened).

I agree in a sense. But I can also see the arguement that both teams may have blown their load, so to speak.

SA was in victory mode with 23 seconds left, they get forced into OT and have the trophy ripped from their grasp. they will be either motivated or deflated.

MIA made a push to steal game 6 and force game 7, they used a lot of energy and will be riding a high.

In my opinion both teams could come out motivated and create a great game.

Got Miami by 10+.

That mental and physical fatigue to me is just too much. Plus I've had a bet with my brother since Game 1 lol.

But I'd want the Spurs to win for KDSpursman. Probably the classiest guy on PSD.

In my opinion both teams could come out motivated and create a great game.Quite logical. After two 7 game series, I wonder if Miami can pull it out. They were seconds away from losing the series on Tuesday night. I wonder if that will make them nervous tonight and vice versa as a distraction to SA. I think the Spurs have the better team, but they must play well. I really hope the Spurs aren't deflated. Their after game dinner seemed to be positive. Nobody wants a blowout, right?

how can lakers fans all of a sudden root for the spurs...the spurs swept the lakers in 4....and secondly, they have a rivalry......this is the reason why the laker fans have no class

They were all for the Celtics last year. PSD does have some real Lakers fans. But a good portion are just Kobe nuthuggers.

It takes no class to say another fanbase has no class. Instead of mouthing off about an entire fanbase, it might have been a good idea to single out the Laker fans that are trolls.

I can't say that.

If Timmy had Kobe's Killer instinct, this series would've been over in 5 to 6 games MAX.

Duncan waited until game 6 to go all out... All the other games he just cruised like some role player.

And I don't wanna hear old... 10 days off before series, championship on line.. You come out like you did Game 6 for every game, and the spurs woulda closed this out at home.

He still has a chance to make up for it tonight with an Epic performance, and then we can stick him above Kobe.

GTFO!

Lol dude! I root for a team series by series. Because I root for the celtics to beat the heat and then the next series I root against the celtics. Is that against the rules?

Get off my jock and worry about yourself

as a heat fan, i wouldn't root for any other team....never rooted for the celtics, lakers, spurs, etc....i ain't on no bandwagon unlike you. Secondly, tim duncan is at a higher level than kobe. Look at the accomplishments. This is what im talking about.....thats why your not a true laker fan, case closed...this is the reason why i hardly go on psd now a days, ppl like you will never understand the game...lakers fans should have been like this - wait till next year, lakers will win in 2014

Your post is idiotic, if he prefers to see SA winning it all instead of miami, it doesn't mean he will root for SA then, this is a preference, everyone has a preference.

SA is a team oriented basketball team, a classy and smart organisation, you can understand why some people want them to win, do you?

I can't say that.

If Timmy had Kobe's Killer instinct, this series would've been over in 5 to 6 games MAX.

Duncan waited until game 6 to go all out... All the other games he just cruised like some role player.

And I don't wanna hear old... 10 days off before series, championship on line.. You come out like you did Game 6 for every game, and the spurs woulda closed this out at home.

He still has a chance to make up for it tonight with an Epic performance, and then we can stick him above Kobe.

Duncan has won every finals he's been involved in. He's averaging 18 and 12 in the finals at 37 years of age. Duncan got his as the man on his team Kobe had shaq for his first 3. And even blantently the refs in that laker vs kings series. Yea he needs to have an epic night tonight but not to put him over Kobe all time, he already is, but just to win another ring and be 5 for 5.

I'm one who feels 5 gold medals and 2 silver medals is better than 4 gold medals.

Duncan has had an outstanding team every single year since he's been in the NBA... Kobe went some years with mediocre talent.

Kobe also proved he could win titles with 2 completely different casts of characters... Not just win, but go to finals 3 years straight twice.

If Kobe had a strong cast every year he's been in the league, he might have 6 or 7 titles.

The fact that this Spurs series isn't already over would just be icing on the cake..... I'd like to think that all time greats AMONG all time greats take EVERY finals game seriously.

Duncan has taken 3 games seriously out of 6... If they lose, you can just give him a pass on that... I wont.

Kobe played hard every game in that series... If Pau had played hard, they would've won the series... Pau disappeared.

Duncan has disappeared in 3 games in this series.... If they lose the series, ultimately some of it has to fall on his shoulders.

If splitter is stinking it up, pull him... Put in Blair for 5 minutes.

i don't think he NEEDS to go deep into his bench (and even though t-mac is my dude, there's no reason to be actively searching for opportunities to put him in at this point).

but i agree with the short leash thing. i don't think it should be ultra tight, but there's no reason to not pull guys relatively quickly if they're clearly off. but that goes both ways too. the heat have had a ton of streaky play from a ton of players. i think spo has generally done a good job of pulling the right strings in that regard...but i'd love to see more of that chalmers/allen/miller/james/andersen lineup or some iteration of that. it's worked a lot this series

Yeah, but a foul should just be a foul...I despise the Heat but if that was Ray taking the shot and Leonard came flying at him, I would want them to call it. Guys should never be able to have the mentality that they can get away with a foul just because its the end of the game...I think that unspoken rule is stupid.

I'm rooting for San Antonio, and I said they'd win in 7 before game one so I can't change my prediction now. Obviously that was before the game six insanity but I think a team like San Antonio can gear themselves up and still come out and play. They made some very un-Spurs like errors and I can't see them doing that again.

But if LeBron plays as aggressively as he did in the 4th quarter, I don't know if Leonard can do much about it for a full game, and Diaw definitely can't. It's going to be a crazy ride (I hope :p).

You gotta win three in a row to be considered a dynasty much less cemented.

Not when you also win 27 straight.

Yeah like I really have no idea. She had a big head and did indeed look mature in the face, but had the body of a young girl. And I thought I saw the headline of an article where people booed her or something (Maybe was a different woman, didn't read it).

Im probably just asking cuz im so nervous about this game. lol

I'm sure Wade and Chalmers wouldn't mind some pick and rolls.

As terrible as he was in game six, who else could the Spurs start? I trust Manu more than Gary Neal. Even if he's not going well offensively, he'll hustle and put the effort in on defense. I don't think he should be forcing any shots though.

Two early fouls for him anyway.

dalton749
06-20-2013, 09:21 PM
how is it a good shot if he cant make it?

because if he makes it early it opens the floor up for everyone else to get better shots, if he doesnt, nothing changes, they keep clogging the paint

MrfadeawayJB

Wades injury has nothing to do with him missing wide open shots. Why do commentators make excuses for him lol?
