I might be the only one getting tired of these Lebron/Kobe/Heat suck threads, but Team USA just announced their minicamp invites. Looking at them, I'm just thinking wow. There's so much young talent that it'll be interesting to see who makes the team in 2016

USA Basketball announced 27 players to participate in their minicamp this summer.

Ryan Anderson (New Orleans Pelicans)
Harrison Barnes (Golden State Warriors)
Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards)
Mike Conley (Memphis Grizzlies)
DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento Kings)
Anthony Davis (New Orleans Pelicans)
DeMar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors)
Andre Drummond (Detroit Pistons)
Kenneth Faried (Denver Nuggets)
Derrick Favors (Utah Jazz)
Paul George (Indiana Pacers)
Taj Gibson (Chicago Bulls)
Gordon Hayward (Utah Jazz)
Jrue Holiday (Philadelphia 76ers)
Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers)
DeAndre Jordan (Los Angeles Clippers)
Ty Lawson (Denver Nuggets)
Kawhi Leonard (San Antonio Spurs)
Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers)
Greg Monroe (Detroit Pistons)
Chandler Parsons (Houston Rockets)
Larry Sanders (Milwaukee Bucks)
Klay Thompson (Golden State Warriors)
Dion Waiters (Cleveland Cavaliers)
Kemba Walker (Charlotte Bobcats)
John Wall (Washington Wizards)
Tyler Zeller (Cleveland Cavaliers).

So yeah, it may be a little early, but what're your thoughts on who's making the 2016 Olympic Roster?

Westbrook/Rose/CP3
Harden/Curry/Irving
Durant/George/Leonard
Lebron/Aldridge/Love
Howard/Davis/Hibbert

well no John Wall, Faried or Leonard and put Chris Paul, Aldridge, and Carmelo.

CP3 and Carmelo should not only be on the team but starting. Not sure how you leave them off.

I think Steph Curry is a shoe in to be added to the team by 2016

And Kyrie Irving if the team needs another guard

Westbrook is gonna surpass CP3 by 2016. I suppose you're right and CP3 does take precedence over Wall.

I can't believe I forgot Aldridge, you're completely right with that. Replace Faried with Aldridge no doubt.

Honestly, you could easily make a case for Melo but I think Leonard does have the chance to make it as the Iguodala of that year's team. He's a strong defender and rebounder who can only grow offensively. But I wouldn't be too disappointed if Melo made it over him though.

Yes, but this is also generally a good look at what Team USA sees as the future talent of the NBA. For the most part, if they've been selected for this, they probably have at least some potential to one day be on the olympic team.

melo will be on this team, especially with his performance in the last olympics and the tear hes been on. barring severe injury, of course

better worry bout the team for NEXT year in the WORLD BASKETBALL CUP.
This time usa basketball will send a full strength team because nba owners and fiba have made an agreement to make this the MAIN international tournamente ( wich it was already, more difficult to win) over olympics.

I know of this list Holiday was part of the Select team last year, anyone know if anyone else on this list was on that squad too? Would have to think those guys have the upper hand in making the team over some of the others

USA should only be allowed to send their white players who have a "q" in their name.

Team Canada:

Kelly Olynyk/Robert Sacre
Tristan Thompson/Andrew Nicholson
Anthony Bennett/Xavier Rathan-Mayes
Andrew Wiggins/Corey Joseph
Myck Kabongo/Kevin Pangos

Not bad. If they manage to qualify they could be solid come 2016.

Leonard, and Aldridge over Melo... who's hands down been the best player in international Basketball. FOH.

This could be even more interesting if Wiggins becomes elite.

That list just reminds me that we're overly rich with talent. Take some of the guys off of the select team and they would be first team starters for other countries.

I know other national teams have done some to close the gap but the talent we have is amazing.

Very true. He'll be 21 in 2016 so its possible.

It will be interesting to see how Bennett develops as well. He's likely to go top 5 in this years draft.

then in 2020 with Wiggins, Bennett and hopefully Montaque gill-ceasar and Justin Jackson. If those guys turn out to be who people are hyping them up to be then Canada could possibly give the US a good go ( as in not lose by 100 points )
Wiggins hype aside tho im more amped to see what Jacksons gonna turn into....I think hell be a star
