Hollins is not changing the starting lineup from what I read. 3 days off, I hope TP comes out attacking. I'm sure both teams are happy to be rested.

I really think the Spurs will sweep the Grizzlies. Z-Bo has been underwhelming to say the least. Hope I am wrong.

Must win for Memphis, they're usually impressive at home, and have not lost yet there in playoffs.

Should be an interesting game.

Going to be an extremely close game, the rest will help the spurs much more than the grizz and I see the spurs winning and closing out in 5

Spurs are just too motivated right now imo. They were up 2-0 last years WCF and saw it slip, they're not going to let that happen again. I think Spurs win this one, lose Game 4 and close out in Game 5.

Memphis can still win the next two games and tie this series. Gasol needs to make his presence felt because as of now was a non factor. The perimeter guys have been super disappointing. Wide open jumpers smacking the rim. If you can't hit shots cut to the damn rim for higher percentage shots. Gasol and Zbo are good passers.

Defense was much better in game 2. Spurs will let you back in this series. Once again, Conley's play is the biggest factor in getting the offense going. If not for the early foul trouble, they win game 2.

MrfadeawayJB

Grizz have only lost 3 in a row twice all season. I expect them to get the win and continue undefeated home win steak in the post season. Conley has a big night

I'd love to see Gasol take every open shot and quit passing up open looks. He can have a huge night and open it up for ZBO

Spurs have played in LA and GS houses, 2 of the loudest arenas, I don't think MEM arena will intimidate the SpursIts not really about the fans Is more about the players PWNing the others teams around especially on defense.

That's why they call it the Grind House.

kdspurman
05-25-2013, 09:08 PM
^Yea I'm not too worried about the whole "grind house" thing. OKC played very well there too, and almost pulled off 2 wins.

For our guys, I just don't want to see Tim get into early foul trouble, I could see them go at him early and try to get him in foul trouble. (seeing as well as they played when Tim was out last game)

I also am not sure if Bonner/Green/Leonard will take their shooting on the road. that hasn't always been the case. If not, Tim/Tony/Manu will have to play great games

kdspurman
05-25-2013, 09:16 PM
This is why I don't necessarily worry.. It's still a 5 point game, Memphis doesn't seem to get enough points to pull away despite their great defense

MrfadeawayJB

ZBO needs to get his face up game going. That's what killed the spurs a few years ago, it also opens up cutting lanes

05-25-2013, 10:04 PM
Leonard on Pondexter now. We saw what he did to Klay.

Only difference with those two is they actually design plays for Klay..Pondexter gets his pretty much strictly from penetration where we have to help or a rebound or something. Much rather us keep Leonard on Conley and disrupt the O if possible and just stick on Pondexter and stop giving him wide open looks.

kdspurman
05-25-2013, 10:04 PM
Parker is picking on Z-Bo again. Waving off Duncan and using Diaw or Bonner whoever Z-bo is guarding.

kdspurman

Damn, man. I thought this series was going to be a showdown. Memphis has no clue what they're doing. Blowing a big lead is unacceptable in the western conference finals. I hated it when Boston came back against the Lakers in 2008 after overcoming an otherwise huge lead by LA. This outcome makes me sad. Hopefully Memphis won't submit and still win a game or two.

On the plus side, if San Antonio wins, that might mean a FINALS matchup with the Heat. But I wouldn't be surprised if Indiana won, but I don't think Indiana will have as much of a shot against the Spurs as Miami would. Regardless, it's pretty cool seeing the Spurs playing for the title because they're undefeated in the FINALS.

Got to give it to Memphis for making it this far. The defense was outstanding in the first two rounds. But the Spurs play defense too. So you have to score against them. And Pop takes away your strength. Hard to win when perimeter guys can't shoot and barely cut to the rim on screens. Pondexter was huge tonight but that was about it.

Spurs are nothing like the Clippers or Thunder. Defensively, neither team did anything to stop Z-Bo, and offensively, neither of them run the amount of different sets and space the floor the way the Spurs do. It's why the Grizz beat both of them fairly easily

I totally agree. I couldn't understand why they chose to play them straight up and force the perimeter guys to prove they could hit consistently from outside. Gasol and Zbo ate them alive and they never adjusted. They allowed Paul and Durant to play hero ball. Spurs spread it around and screen them to death.

If the Spurs and Pacers get to the Finals, wait for the worst NBA TV ratings since the last time the Spurs got there.

Terrible, terrible for the NBA and the sport. Interest will be minimal and for all the progress the league has made, will set them back. Casual fans will not watch that crap.

Cavs-Spurs, two terribly small markets, garnered the worst ratings in NBA history in 07.

The owners are getting what they wanted. Separating the stars like Melo and CP3 on separate teams, handicapping the cap on big markets and sending the NBA Finals to a viewership of three people.

You'd probably rather have a Knicks/Clippers finals I bet... You'd have a bunch of people who don't really watch basketball but tune in to see the Knicks or "Lob City"

That's why the ratings were up last year, that was such a mismatch last year, Miami owned OKC. You think that's good for the game rather than watching a team like the Spurs who play basketball so beautifully without the need of causing drama on/off the court?

The people who really appreciate the sport of basketball will tune in. Those looking for big names, high flying dunks, and trash talking, well they won't tune in. And that's fine quite honestly.

If it was 2009 and people didn't want us in the finals in the same way they don't want the patriots in the super bowl, I'd get that. But it's been 6 years since our last finals appearance and we have 2 of the most unique, iconic, and humble superstars to ever play the game on the brink of retirement, hoping for one last ring (Duncan and Ginobili). Prince either struggled with his shot or was very hesitant to shoot. I kind of figured the Spurs were going to peep that out. Bait him to shoot and play down low to help out against Zbo.

It was an ironic game. The Grizz jumped off to that lead forcing turnovers and the Spurs got back in forcing turnovers.

Not that what you said was wrong, but I believe that winning with fundamentals IS special as opposed to winning with athleticism. To me, winning with simple athleticism is the boring one. Truly being a good basketball player/having actual skill means having an understanding of the game, and includes so many subtle factors.

I really hope not..... :(

Me neither. But it has happened in past playoff runs: a key player gets injured and knocks the wind out of our sails.

I'm only predicting this so it won't happen. It's like a safeguard.

Every year the Spurs contend, it's just maddening over the years to see some fluke occurance put an end to the title run.
