Funny how no one talks about this and it's absolutely racism.

Could you imagine the uproar if say Marc Gasol demanded a white coach.

Its not racist, basketball these days is primarly a black sport. Most of the players are black. He has nothing against white people just for this job he would rather a black coach. For other jobs he would probably rather an asian or white guy.

Maybe he knows what his owner is (racist and cheap) and wants to re-sign but only if they get the best coach available. I don't think Jerry Sloan is available. Right now, it looks like Hollins is the top of the litter. Who is the best white coach willing to sign with the Clippers?

Chris Paul is just as racist as Donald Sterling is. It's fitting they are both in the same organization.

why not? is it because the asian or white guys can't be as good of a coach because they're not black? or are black people inherently good a coaching? or does he want a black coach just because he's black? no matter how you spin it...it's racist.

This is absolutely racist if true. It's one thing if he said I want them to hire a particular coach who is African-American, whether it be because of a comfort level he has with him or because he feels that coach is the best candidate for the job. But to specify you specifically only want a black coach, regardless if he is the best candidate for the job, is racist.

well, saying you want a coach based on race, and not credentials, isn't really anything that would fly if the races were reversed here.

so yeah. he's in the wrong here. if it's true.

Clippers GM: Okay Chris we have a few candidates and would like to get your opinion on who we should hire. We are willing to pay Phil whatever to come coach, we have Scott Skiles and we got the gay black youtube sensation Antoine Dodson.
Chris Paul: Antoine Dodson.

so, if an african american hockey coach was fired, and a player said, "I only want an white coach", it wouldn't be racist, right?

Well, the problem with that example is that this is only a report and CP3 hasn't said anything. I would hope, and would like to believe, this isn't true.

But a report in the New York daily news (which just happens to be home to a team with a black coach) on a player all the way in LA has to be legit!

Hey Chris, we've just got our hands on a time machine and we can get you any coach you want, so far we've narrowed it down to the following... Gregg Popovich, Red Auerbach, Chuck Daly, Red Holzman, Phil Jackson, George Karl, Pat Riley or Bill Cartwright.

CP3; "I'll take Cartwright"

dude the best players of all time are black, this is a black sport. There are a lot of great white players and there will for years to come but this is a sport with a lot of black people, more than white people or any other race. Doc Rivers IMO is the best coach in the game right now he is black. This will get over shadowed because Phil was a great coach and he is white and coached MJ/Shaq/Kobe. And POP coached Duncan. Take those players out and its mostly black coaches. And what Chris Paul is saying is he wants a black coach right now Phil is retired and Pop is in San Antonio. The coaches on the market are all black except for Skiles.

Treading a fine line with the race talk.
Think of it as you will, but we're not having this discussion here. Already have a couple immature posts. That's all I needed to see.
Closing thread.
