8:30 EST the results will be revealed.....

The number 1 pick chance %s-

Magic-25%
Bobcats-19.9%
Cleveland-15.6%
Phoenix-11.9%
New Orleans-8.8%
Sacramento-6.3%
Detroit-3.6%
Wizards-3.5%
Wolves-1.7%
Portland-1.1%
Philly-0.8%
Raptors-0.7%
Mavs-0.6%
Jazz-0.5%

Who do you guys think will win the first pick, and what two will fill out the other two?

Personally I see it like this, Magic,Kings, Cats winning it in that order.

There is no unanimous number ones, but Noel would be a great prize

Thank you Mod for the sticky

Pretty much this.

Vinny642

It kind of helps that they got the best chances too, I think if we get it again, we'll trade down, I believe I saw that somewhere

Cal827

With the Raptors luck, we will move to 1st overall, and hold onto our pick in a year where there really isn't a franchise player

Yeah but 25% is only 1/4 chance of getting it. When is the last time the projected #1 got that pick

Yeah I like vucevic for them. I think McLemore should be a target for Orlando. I think he has the most star potential of all the players

dalton749
05-21-2013, 07:04 PM
1.Magic
2.Phoenix
3.Sacramento
4.Bobcats
5.New Orleans
6.Cleveland
7.Wolves
8.Detroit
9.Wizards
10.Portland
11.Raptors
12.Philly
13.Mavs
14.Jazz

B'sCeltsPatsSox

I'll say that New Orleans wins it again.

bholly
05-21-2013, 08:20 PM
Rooting for the Sixers, obv, but after that I'd take anyone except Orlando, Sacto, Toronto. Not because I don't want those teams to do well, but because of the rigged implications after my poll.

bholly
05-21-2013, 08:23 PM
1.Magic
2.Phoenix
3.Sacramento
4.Bobcats
5.New Orleans
6.Cleveland
7.Wolves
8.Detroit
9.Wizards
10.Portland
11.Raptors
12.Philly
13.Mavs
14.Jazz

The lottery picks the top 3, then everyone else goes in order of record. So Philly can't slip behind Toronto unless Toronto move all the way up to the top 3. Same with the TWolves moving ahead of Detroit and Washington, and New Orleans moving above Cleveland.

If the Magic win, then Phoenix get second, and Sacto third, it'd go 4. Charlotte; 5. Cleveland; 6. New Orleans; 7. Detroit; 8. Washington; 9. Minny; 10. Portland; 11. Philly; 12. Toronto; 13. Dallas; 14. Utah.

Not if "injuries" happen, "bad coaching", Noel (if drafted) doesn't come back until mid-season (the Rose treatment), etc. Lot of factors to consider before considering the Cavs a playoff team because they added one player who tore his ACL in an unstacked draftclass.

so, Cleveland missed the playoffs for a while leading up to landing Bron, the hometown kid. They miss the playoffs while he is a rookie, and then run off years in the playoffs. He leaves, they suck. They land Irving. They miss the playoffs again, the get ANOTHER #1 pick.

And then you have Orlando, who has drafted Shaq, Webber, and Dwight with #1 picks.

Amazing how some teams just happen to be so darn lucky....

Watch Dwight sign with the Rockets, the Lakers trade Dwight to some idiot GM for their #1 pick, the Lakers win the lottery, get Wiggins, and another top 5 pick in a ridiculous draft.

I'm going to laugh if Cleveland doesn't make the playoffs next year.
It's very possible that they won't if they select Noel. He's going to miss at least part of the season and it's not like he's ready to come in and play 35 mpg anyway. He's going to be a role player for at least a few years. I almost feel like Porter or McLemore would be the better pick. I am still undecided between those three for my team at #1.

Writing is on the wall. Noel isn't coming back until Christmas ish, Kyrie will get hurt again, they'll suck but Dion will develop. #1 pick in 2014 too

Irving - Waiters - Wiggins - Thompson - Noel

But in all seriousness congrats to Cleveland!
Fingers crossed! The NBA would hate them if they landed the #1 pick in 3 out of 4 years.

Quoted from "The NBA lottery is Rigged Thread" on the NBA Forum

The Cavs were #16 on FORBES.com list of "The NBA's Most Valuable Teams" and #2 on my list. My write up is below the quoted Forbes blurb.

Big(ger) Markets need to make Big(er) Profits.:

#16 Cleveland Cavaliers
Value: $434 million
Profit: $19 million

The Cavaliers went 21-45 during the 2011-12 season and saw attendance plummet 21%, to an average of just 15,900 per game at Quicken Loans Arena. It was the team's second season since LeBron James left, but the first they could not use James to entice season ticket holders (James left the Cavs in July 2010 after fans already had purchased season tickets). For the 2012-13 campaign, the team plans on introducing a reconfigured scorer's table intended to increase the amount of television exposure courtside advertisers get by at least 15% which should help boost revenue.
Kyrie Irving has become a NBA star, Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson are very nice pieces, but they still need more to improve on last year's sub 30 win season. Zeller slowly adjusting to the NBA and Varejao was often injured last season so maybe the addition of a guy like Noel would be enough to boost them into the weak eastern conference playoff picture. Cleveland tasted success in the Lebron years and with the flashes of greatness from Irving they may be able to entice their James fan ticket holders to keep coming out if they see a few more wins. The #1 overall pick would help Irving and continue the profits that will apparently plummet if James fans don't re-up on their season tickets soon. $19 million in profit is nice and if the top pick in the 2013 draft will help to at least maintain those numbers then NBA would have a good reason to rig the lottery in Cleveland's favor.

I wonder how much is luck and how of the lottery is a financial decision. If you think about what was written above they could very well have lost a lot of that $19 million in profit from last season. This #1 pick may help them retain it.

Wizards should be drooling right now. Trade #3+ for Boogie.
Wall/Beal/Cousins with great supplemental guys like Nene, Ariza, Singleton. That team could be great next year and will only get better.

Kings reasoning is simple. Boogie isn't working. Just got your team back, strip the thing, build a talent pool with #3 + #7 just taking BPA both times and then in 2014 you have a goldne shot at one of the top picks in Wiggins/Parker/Randle/Gordon

The Cavs and the city of cleveland are cursed in sports I wont be shocked when Kyrie has a chance leaves and if they take Noel he would be a huge bust.

Chad Ford on trade offers Cleveland might get for the #1 pick...

Dont' think Cavs fans will be happy. Just talked to half the GMs in the league, and they are all looking to sell their picks. No one really wants No. 1, nor are they willing to give up a valuable asset to get it. I think the Cavs will have a hard time moving it.

:laugh2: Don't get too excited about getting a 205 pound center.

Haha no one really wanted the first pick, it was nice to have but this draft isnt worth it as compared to the past few or even the next one

I havn't seen this much hope for a Washington team's future since 1995-96 When they had Webber-Howard-Rasheed.
