View Full Version : Who are you rooting for in the Spurs-Warriors series?

The Spurs-Warriors series has been the series I have been most excited about since the Suns were in the playoffs back in '10.

Its been great watching the chess match between these two squads. One is young and relies on its youth, athleticism and shooting ability to win while the other relies on its smartness, and experience to win.

Parker vs Curry, Bogut vs Duncan, Barnes vs Leonard, Giboili vs Jack/Thompson have all been great.

That said, who are you rooting for to win this series? For me, its the Warriors. I love underdog stories and I'm glad the Warriors are good after so many years of sucking. Their fans deserve it. Steph Curry may be the most exciting player to watch in the NBA (when he's hot) and I hate the Spurs so this one's pretty easy.

Who you rootin for?

The Spurs of course, the smartest team of the league, Duncan and TP deserve another ring.

I am torn. Love the way Curry led Warriors have been playing. I have always been a fan of Spurs ball. I guess I am leaning towards the Spurs since Duncan and Manu probably won't have another year to go deep into the postseason. Wouldn't mind seeing either team advance tbh,

I think the Grizzlies are the only team from the West with a shot to beat Miami. And if the Spurs win I don't see them beating Memphis. The Grizz have played the Spurs tough for years even when they weren't contenders.

The Spurs. Part of it is kind of lame, but because the Rockets and Warriors are similar teams, I'd hate for Golden State to advance all the way to the conference finals while the Rockets were eliminated in the first round. Also, I just think the Spurs are the better basketball team and I want the best series I can possibly get in the conference finals. I honestly think the Grizzlies would make the Warriors their *****es.

Its just refreshing to see new teams in the NBA having a chance like the Warriors, Griz and Pacers.

Spurs. Warriors were just really hot right now, and Curry was carrying that team on one ankle. Klay Thompson might be the most overrated person in the playoffs right now. He scores 30-something one game, and then averages like 8 points the rest of the playoffs? Splash Brothers my ***

Warriors even though I like both of these teams. I actually will root for all 3 of the remaining teams in the west. They are all likable imo

way to knock a 2nd year player in the playoffs. He's a promising rising player in the NBA.

You have to give the Spurs credit and making adjustments after the 30+ point game. They been great at locking him down on Defense and Kawai Lenard has been all over him.

It's not just the playoffs, I had him on my fantasy team this year, he was good for threes, but he could go 6-7 one night and then 0-7 one night. Way too inconsistent, but yes he is young still.

Even if I wasn't a Dubs fan I would be rooting for the Warriors because as the OP said I love an underdog story. If the Spurs win though, I will be rooting for them to go all the way. Also, I have always loved Ginobli he is one of my favorite players still in the league today.

I want to see a lot of the Warriors, but they are the future and the Spurs are more suited to defeat the heat.

Everyone thought the Nuggets and the Spurs would make the Warriors their *****es too, so I would not be so sure of that.

they set a NBA record for most threes in a regular season by a backcourt. Splash brothers title was well earned, they broke a three point shooting record together.

Warriors, why? Because I'm a die hard Dubs fan.

If the Spurs advance I'll be torn between cheering for them and Memphis, love it when a smaller market gets a fairy tale ending so would love to see Memphis win it all, but then again I would love for Timmy to get another ring, but if they make it to that point it means they will have eliminated my Warriors so screw them! Haha.

Got to disagree with this. Northern and Southern California are like two different states and have always been natural rivals. Giants/Dodgers, Angles/A's, Sharks/Ducks, 49ers/L.A. Raiders and now we laugh because L.A. has no football team. The Bay has not held up its end of the rivalry in basketball because the Warriors sucked under Cohan. Now that the Warriors and the Clippers are good teams as well as the Lakers, I expect the rivalry to pick up. These teams will hate each other before they end up rooting for each other.

in all seriousness, the only rivalry in California are Giants and Dodgers. thats where you draw the line.

But, Warriors & Lakers never had a rivalry because the warriors have been Terrible for 40 years.

Want the Warriors. Would prefer that Lee wasn't hurt, but it's still a great team and a lot of credit has to go to their management. These guys were my much better than just fun to watch pick at beginning of the year. Memphis was my pick the the chip ( though I had them playing Boston--oh well).

Would be hard to pick a team between the two if they do get to play.
