Young, but one of the better 3pt/FT shooters in the game, he just hasn't been too aggressive. Spurs adjusted to him well. He's D is a + too, though. Definitely a nice young cog, and part 2 of the best shooting backcourt ever. Tough to call that "so bad".

Like I said, Thompson is going to have a lot of thinking to do in the off season. He's going to have to find a way to improve his game. If he can't improve past a jump shooter the Warriors are going to have to get another scorer.

Mark Jackson needs to take Klay Thompson out and give him a notebook to take notes on how Curry is attacking the basket.

Only good thing Thompson is giving GSW right now is defense. He's an absolute non factor on offense.

Ooo JR Smith is actually a very good comparison for Thompson. Only difference is that Thompson's younger and plays defense but they have about the same game on offense.

sunsfan88

Warriors getting 2 first half free throws won't cut it. Only 6 3pt attempts also won't cut it.

So how was the 1st half?? At work

Much like the last 4 games. Spurs defense has been on point, though Curry is feeling it a little driving and finishing in the paint.

Spurs lead at half by 7, with only 1 combined FG from Parker & Manu, though they combined for 11 assists.

Klay Thompson still a non factor. (1-6)

Barnes took a nasty fall, got 6 stitches over his eye, but he's back in.

Timmy has been very effective, right now 6-8 from the field w/17 points

Come on dude - let's not pretend that Parker and Manu are not infamous for flopping, or at the very least majorly exaggerating contact to get their calls. We've seen them do it all series on drives with either highly minimal or 0 contact, such as the last play.

Did not see that Curry flop, and unfortunately for us he has 0 history of it. Could use some more FT's out of him.

I'm not blaming San Antonio, it's a smart/veteran play to try and play the refs. Wish we did it, we'd win many more games.

Right, but that play you just complained about, there was no such flop. It was a bad call. Just like the bad call Jack just got

You didn't see Manu clearly snap back and act like there was contact on that? Replay it later if you have the capability. Fairly subtle but obvious -despite 0 contact.

I saw no foul on Jack, but we did not get a good enough angle to see if they clipped the elbow - which is what the call was. While we're complaining, Tony flailing and receiving the call on that entirely legit screen was pathetic.

I don't subscribe to the "put X team in X box" way of basketball analytics based on GS having such better 3pt shooters, but San Antonio did a great job on them. Their 16 3pt attempts were also likely one of the lower totals of the season for them (a team that was not even top 10 in 3pt attempts throughout the season or top 5 in the playoffs, despite common belief of those who don't watch them play due to them being so good at it). So certainly did not live and die by it tonight - or really any night - in that regard.

How is GSW going to resign all those players? I mean JJ is clearly starter material and he's worth the $8M a year... He has to be on their top list of priorities.

That's because the Spurs don't go for offensive rebounds.... They focus on getting back on defense. It's been like that with them the past few years, but they're near the best in terms of defensive rebounds

Jack is not a necessary resign, they'd be better off with someone who better runs the offense and creates open looks for Lee/Bogut/Thompson/Barnes.

Barnes and Klay are on rookie contracts for 3-4 years with Curry on one of the best value contracts in the league for 4 years. And Biedrins and Jefferson are 20 million in expirings that can be traded if necessary. Rich new owners committed to winning doesn't hurt, either.

Are you involving their assistant coach in the cap? Huh?

Future looks pretty bright from my end. Especially with the ridiculous stadium they're moving to in San Francisco. I'd imagine more free agents will look to come play there.
