Thunder have to win at least one in Memphis. I don't see OKC beating Memphis 3 straight times, which they would have to if they go down 3-1. Memphis, on the other hand, has already proven they can win in OKC. They'd only have to do it one more time if they win both at home.

That being said, let's go, both teams! This series has been great. Durant trying to play hero without Westbrook, Conley going off, it's just good basketball.

I wish OKC had a legit big. That way, we could see some of the big boys tackle each other. (Gasol & Randolph vs ????)

I doubted Memphis before, but if they can somehow overcome the Spurs, they might give Miami a challenge. I don't think OKC can make such a good argument as last year without Harden. Is Westbrook out for the playoffs? Or would he try to come back if OKC survives any longer?

This is EXACTLY where Memphis misses having Rudy Gay. You need guys who can create a perimeter shot out of thin air in the playoffs because possessions are going to turn ugly and you need to at least get a shot off. Memphis is struggling to even get an attempt because they don't have that guy to create in the midrange. Every champion has one.

He was still one of the most popular players in the game and seen as the best player by most fans and announcers alike (with Kobe still winning ships, he had that end of the argument), resulting in multiple MVP's. Let's not act like he was a pariah by fans or the media until he made "The Decision". Though he obviously did get unjust criticism by those who don't understand the game. His infrequent choke jobs and ghost-mode games aside (he deserves all the blame in the world for the finals loss to Dallas though).

Obviously KD deserves no blame. He's putting up a mix of Jordan/Lebron numbers and doing what he can against a far superior team.

If they can barely beat this Thunder team with the way they look, I'm not sure they're striking fear in Miami or anyone else just yet. They have as good a chance as anyone not named Miami, but they did not look very impressive. 40% from the field tonight, 28% from three.

A win is a win and they play tough as hell and this team still has Durant on it, He is the 2nd best player in the NBA right???

i don't think Miami or SAS should be. the grizz won't have enough offense for those two teams. without Russy they can squeak by OKC, but those teams shouldn't have much of a problem IMO

If The Grizz make The Spurs & Heat play Grizz ball and grind it out it's a toss up but Heat can beat em as for my Spurs we can but the Grizz are serious.

I don't think Gay is good, but I think they are gonna hit that wall where they need what he can bring as far as creating a shot, you saw flashes tonight but their defense overcame it. Safe to say everyone would be singing different tunes if Westbrook was playing. They are relying way too heavily on Gasol and ZBo taking deep contested jumpers.

Durant and a team playing like scrubs. Memphis is tough, and a force for sure, but this wasn't a game that other contenders will look to and have "fear of Memphis". Lebron's probably thinking he can do what Durant's doing, and then kick it to Wade or Bosh or the best 3pt shooter of all time when he gets tired. Not exactly a similar scenario they'd be facing in Miami.

running your normal offense and trying to get zbo and gasol better looks beats rudy gay hero ball 10 times out of 10.

gay hits some big shots, but a lot of those big shots are only necessary because he goes 6-23 before hand

Now OKC are scrubs because they are minus one player? This team just went to the finals last year and have some damn good role players, I think your selling the Grizzlies short a bit here.

ibaka, martin and even guys like fisher, thabo, jackson etc. are all great when all they have to do is fill a specific role. i don't think ibaka should ever be called a "scrub". he missed some shots tonight, but he's a valuable asset on any NBA team.

westbrook meant a TON to the thunder and to durant himself. you remove him and those guys now have to do a lot more. i wouldn't call them all scrubs however...so i agree with that.

but he's working with a lot less. westbrook is an irreplaceable piece. he means more to that team than most want to admit.

Martin and Ibaka are both excellent players when they're engaged, but losing Westbrook seemed to have effected these guys the most somehow (or coincidentally they are just both off), and it's definitely not a stretch to call what the team has done outside of KD the last 7 games as "scrubs". Ibaka's scared to take open mid-range shots right now, and that's a shot he hit with ease for 2 seasons. It's strange, it seems their confidence just simply isn't the same as a whole now that they know they're not true contenders without Westbrook.

Well, other than Durant, he just morphed into a 6'10" Jordan.

The Grizz perimeter guys get so many open looks it's pathetic how many clank off the rim during the course of the game. These games wouldn't be close if they were more consistent from the field. It's the defense and rebounding that makes it difficult for the opponent. They turn these games ugly. It's really the only problem I have with this team right now.

It's just funny because it's how I feel about Curry, Durant (and Melo/Kobe opposite) etc. Except I do like Westbrook too.

Those KD misses were very rare, which is 1 reason why I think he gets a slight pass. Here's an impressive clutch playoff stat I saw Simmons tweet last week:

Bill Simmons ‏@BillSimmons 6 May

Well then. RT @ESPNStatsInfo: Durant is 4-for-4 attempting go-ahead FG's in final 24 secs of 4th Q last 2 playoffs; rest of NBA is 2-for-23.

sure...but weren't lebron's woes in the clutch always overblown too? statistically he was never inferior to kobe in the clutch, yet the whole world was led to believe that was the case.

He just fell victim to the fact that Kobe was still winning while being "unafraid to take the shot". In reality most smart bball fans know that they were winning in SPITE of some of those shots, but commentators were on his nuts so the bias goes from there.

I agree Lebron got the short end of the stick on it, I was/am with the group that thinks it was hilarious and ironic when compared to Kobe. Plus, there's more expectations of Lebron "The Chosen One" James. When he fails, haters are ready to laugh.

This is EXACTLY where Memphis misses having Rudy Gay. You need kguys who can create a perimeter shot out of thin air in the playoffs because possessions are going to turn ugly and you need to at least get a shot off. Memphis is struggling to even get an attempt because they don't have that guy to create in the midrange. Every champion has one.

Man. I do not miss Rudy Gay

sure. it's kinda like lebron these playoffs; people expect more but these guys are still putting up other-worldly stats.

but he did only have 8 points in the second half, and made only one FG in the 4th.
