If you're coming from far away it's probably not worth it but if you live in the area I'd chance it.

Just finished watching my DVR of the game. Lester was great, hopefully the SP's can get on a bit of a run to save/not expose the pen.

I had a ****ed up dream last night. It was about Andrew Miller, throwing strikes. It panned to the bullpen to show him warming up, and the announcer announced he was throwing strikes as if a miracle just occurred. Then he came in and was striking out everyone with paint. The last pitch he lobbed it over his shoulder as he walked back to the dugout, it did some crazy movement and struck the guy out. Then I woke up and realized there's something ****ed up with me if I am dreaming about a man throwing balls.

On the bright side, a dream about Miller could very easily have been a nightmare.

Looks like he broke out his splitter for the first time this year to K Melky. Was wondering what that was, it was a nasty pitch.

-Lavigne43-

No no-hitter, but he has that kind of stuff right now. This is the Clay we dreamed of when he was the best pitching prospect in baseball.

Depends, if he signs a modest contact that isn't 8 figures annually. Otherwise we'll take the pick.

Nava need to be in the lineup everyday. He's always doing something if he doesn't hit, works the count well.

Another passed ball by Salty.

Also, why did Middlebrooks even throw that ball? Just pocket it, let the guy get on first. Instead he gets to second because he threw it in the dugout. Then Salty can't catch a ball down the middle of the plate and the guy gets to third...c'mon man.

I hope the trend breaks - the one where the Red Sox get shut down by no-name meh pitchers.

This game summarizes the last week. Can't bare to even watch the sox as they keep losing. With our 2 worse pitchers going we needed a good game from Dempster to win this series. Instead looks like a third straight series to lose to one of the worse teams in baseball and then head to tampa with lackey and Webster or Doubrant who combine for 14 runs given up last time they pitched. This was a game to stop the bleeding as I feel like its September 2011 all over again and 2012 after we August 15 when we were 62 and 65

Greenmonster24
05-12-2013, 03:03 PM
What else is new the Yankees keep winning and have continue to with 9 guys on the DL with bunch of old have been have the best record in baseball. I swear this is sorry that without AROD OR JETER OR TEXIERRA AND YOUKLIS AND NUMEZ there about to move 2 games up on the Sox after today. Tampa bay going over .500 so won't be long we will be right there with Toronto near the Cellar again. It was nice in April to think we might actually win 90 games and possible make the playoffs. I guess I got my hope up to early and the real redsox that can't hit with runners in scoring position and can't hold a lead with a strong bullpen is showing up.

It seems the lack of production from the bottom of the order is starting to finally take its toll on the sox. Plus the pitching hasn't been all that great.

Greenmonster24
05-12-2013, 03:07 PM
Wells and Hafner and Ichro 3 and 4 and 5 for Yankees with Overbay 6 who the sox release are scoring run and how there winning and were not beyond me.

Great job Dumpster giving the run right back asap that we score. Thanks Bailey for getting my ****in hopes up that you could have a great year now when we need you more then ever your injured again. Maybe one day Ben get us a real closer that doen't suck or spend half the season on the DL.

It seems the lack of production from the bottom of the order is starting to finally take its toll on the sox. Plus the pitching hasn't been all that great.

The pitching hasn't been terrible in this series. Lester with a CG 1 hitter. Buchholz gave up 2 runs. What's killed them so far this series is the inability to get hits with RISP.

The offense has been sucking as of late. Ellsbury is down to around a .259 AVG, Napoli has cooled off, Ortiz has cooled off, Salty K's way too much and is a liability behind the plate, WMB has been absolutely terrible this year (pre and post collision with Ross), etc.

The bullpen is makeshift at the moment with Bailey on the DL, Hanrahan out for the year, Tazawa is starting to give up runs, etc.

It also sucks when the starting pitchers pitch around 5IP (Dempster today) or are ineffective (Webster/Doubront combo last week.) If the Red Sox lose today they'll be 2-8 in there last 10. A sweep by the Rangers, losing 3 of 4 to the Twins, and it appears as if they'll lose 2 of 3 to the Jays.

I don't see how the Yankees continue to win.
The Orioles have been playing decent baseball for the majority of the year.
The Rays are starting to heat up.

Greenmonster24
05-12-2013, 03:27 PM
Were facing the Rays with Moore and Price lined up against us so we will lose at least 2 to the Rays also.

Greenmonster24
05-12-2013, 03:30 PM
We have played 37 games only 15 on the road. Won't be long we will be below .500 unless Bailey somehow comes back soon but with his history it be another month before he pitches.

Greenmonster24
05-12-2013, 03:32 PM
Nice job Miller letting 3 out of the 4 batters you face reach base. Only recorded one out just what you needed to do to help this shacky bullpen and eat up innings with 2 closers on the dl.

I'm disappointed that we've been playing really bad lately. I still think this is a play off team when healthy. I feel like we will struggle in May. Still end up .500 for the month though. I think the end of the month we have winnable games.

I'm starting to lose a little faith in Middlebrooks. Still love the kid, but he's got to adjust!!

I'm starting to lose a little faith in Middlebrooks. Still love the kid, but he's got to adjust!!

He's been pretty dreadful this year. At the plate he's been awful. He strikes out a ton (14th in MLB as far as K's - most K's amongst AL 3B.) Can't walk to save his life (5 in 136 PA's), his ribs are hurting, he's committed 6 errors on the year (2nd worst as far AL 3B), his fielding percentage is 3rd worst among AL 3B (.932), his BA is 2nd worst among AL 3B (.206), etc.

I want Middlebrooks to succeed and haven't given up on him, but he needs to make some changes.
