As long as Pop's run has been (including his start in Golden State as our assistant), I wonder if he's ever experienced a crowd like they're about to walk into. As experienced as they are you wouldn't think it would phase them dramatically, BUT we shall see!

I think the Spurs should give Kawhi more chances on offense. Dude is incredibly efficient.

That's been a request of ours all year... He's been effective running the P&R, and his mid range shot has gotten so much better than last year. We'll see what happens.

I don't have a good feeling about this game, hopefully I'm proven wrong.

BKLYNpigeon

Warriors take game 3, but I have a sneaky feeling that the Spurs will take game 4.

Game 4 was scheduled for Monday night but was bumped to prime time Sunday afternoon. The warriors always start off slow on afternoon games. I think the spurs can steal that game. Curry could have used the extra day for rest as well.

Technically we were in this exact same situation against the nuggets but I get your point spurs have a wealth of playoff experience that this team does not posses. However, if we keep dropping 3's on people at this rate we won't lose.

Klay is once again the key to this game and the key to the series. If Klay is hitting his shots, the Spurs can't go to heavy on defending Curry. I'm not saying he needs to drop 34 but at least 18+. Just needs to stay out of foul trouble so he can keep covering Parker.

I have a feeling Barnes is going to have a monster dunk tonight on Duncan or Splitter.

Mudvayne91
05-10-2013, 04:16 PM
At first, I wanted SA to destroy them. But after the last 2 games, I want GS to go as far as possible. It makes the Nuggets loss less painful and they're just so much fun to watch when it's not your team playing them.

He's missed 22 of 32 shots this series... Not to mention his defensive lapses. No doubt he has to play better. Wouldn't be surprised if he starts either, but we'll see what Pop does.

He does need to step up for you guys to win but remember if he didnt hit that 3 to take it to overtime people would be talking potential warrior sweep

Joshtd1
05-10-2013, 05:52 PM
Well if Pop isn't going to start his normal lineup of Splitter/Duncan, I'd rather him just go small. Start Manu and put Leonard at the 4. Knowing Pop, he'd still leave Manu on the bench and start Neal who is the worst defensive guard on the team outside of Mills.

That is true..but besides that one shot, he has shot pretty awful. He has passed good, but his defense and shooting has left a lot to be desired, which he has to step up as the 3rd option on the team.

It comes down to energy and shot-making. I think the Spurs do both better tonight.

I would love to see us put our best lineup out there to start the game. Parker, Manu, Leonard, Tim, and Tiago. Grab an early lead and see how the Warriors react to actually being behind for once.

Agreed and if I were the spurs I'd start that too. However, don't underestimate oracle area. That place gets crazy and these guys are playing with mad confidence right now. I know the spurs are not the type of team to get shook but I just don't see the warriors being shook by anyone body right now even if they get down early.

Warriors are in a lot of trouble now...

Popovich made one of the most significant moves of the series, by putting Leonard on Thompson, and completely took Thompson out of the game. Putting even more pressure on Curry. If Thompson can't contribute in the 2nd quarter, this will be a big blow out for the Spurs.

Also Green can not guard Boris Diaw. If I were Pop I would keep Diaw in the game, and expose that matchup.

Amazing. Curry switches on to Bonner and he won't post him. Disgusting. No reason for him to play this series

I think we only had a few seconds left, and he had an open look.

But I like it, cause it puts Lee on Parker. Parker didn't get the bucket that time, he's gotta get a better angle at the basket. But I'll take that switch every time, they can't leave Bonner

KniCks4LiFe
05-10-2013, 11:34 PM
That's why they put Bonner in, they're going to use Bonner on screen & rolls with Parker up high, so he either switches on to Parker or leaves Bonner open.

that's helping Lee cuz' his mobility to close out is not 100% all he has to do is stand go straight up instead of moving side to side in the post.

Kawhi Leonard guarding Thompson has been the best decision by Pop this entire series.

Leonard can't really guard Curry, if he takes away the shot, Curry has the dribbling and playmaking explosiveness to score on him.

But Thompson can't do that. He doesn't have the dribbling and play making skills on Curry, he needs space to shoot his jumper and Leonard has taken him completely out of the game.

If they keep this matchup throughout the series the Spurs can win 3 in a row.

The Warriors are officially in HUGE trouble. Based off what I've seen I don't believe they can win in the 2nd half. The matchups are brutal.

1.) Leonard on Thompson has taken Thompson out of the game, and put pressure on Curry to score (he's missed his last 4 shots)

2.) Boris Diaw has abused Green every single time he's went at him. I would play Diaw and Duncan for the 2nd half. If Jackson can't figure this out the Warriors are screwed.

3.) Tony Parker has almost no responsibilities on the defensive end, which is a good thing. Sometimes he takes Curry, sometimes he doesn't. But he's not getting exhausted having to guard anyone.

4.) The Warriors should be thankful its a 9 point lead, with the amount of wide open 3 point misses by the Spurs. If they don't close out better in the 2nd half this game is over.

Why should we have a 15 pt lead? Warriors have made 1 more three, 2 more FT's then us. We are just scoring more 2 pointers. No reason for me to think we can't keep this kind of shooting up if we keep getting wide open looks. Knew there was no way we could shoot as bad as we did at home, and no way Warriors could stay as hot as they did first 2 games. Just hope it continues this way.

Homie when someone is ripping the ball out of your hands and causing you to hear footsteps that's defense. Klay hasn't been affected by Leonard at all. The ball is in Jack's and Curry's hand, they are running it through their bigs.

Klay got one iso and a few corner shots off. The on iso shot he wasn't really affected by Leonard's defense, that ball just rimmed out. Let that fool get a few more plays and we'll see. You're crazy if you don't think he's hitting double digits tonight.
