This game determines how long this series goes....I will not count out the C's as long as Pierce and KG are on the court...

If the Knicks win tonight this series will end on sunday in a sweep
If the Celtics win tonight this series will go 5 or longer

I think the Celtics play much better in this game. Too many reasons not to think so. However watching their body language at the end of both games (4th Q in 1 and 3rd Q in 2), it's clear the players don't believe they have enough to win or answers for stopping the Knicks.

I like you guys being cocky and all, but let's not act like beating them in Boston in their first home-game since the bombings is going to be any easy. It'll be a very intense game, I think the Knicks win but could see it going either way. Key to the game is NY taking out the crowd early, don't give them a chance to be a factor.

Celticas have had 3 good quarters out of 10 so far...and out of those 3, only 1 was truly much more dominant than the Knicks production.

Knicks never get respect, not one of the 30 ESPN "experts" picked them to win the Atlantic.

I said they'd win 54 games, I was laughed at... they won exactly 54.

I said they'd beat BOS in 5, I was laughed at...

They have a shot at MIA... and really thats all you can ask for. You're not going to "out talent" a team that had 3 superstars in their prime decide to team up... then threw in a Ray Allen.

all you can hope for is a shot, like DAL got... and hope things fall into place in your favor.

the difference was this year we actually had depth to overcome injuries... you had to figure an old team was going to have injuries... but last year we started with like 6 deep until we got Lin and JR later in the year.

Yeah. I STILL can't believe how people keep mentioning that the celts swept the Knicks and that the heat got them 4-1.
But no one mentioned how in 2011 our team was depleted cause of the trade AND billups/amare out cause of injuries. No one mentions how I. 2012, ALL of our PG's were injured. Davis, Shumpert, etc. Plus amare was yet again out/ injured.

We could have made some noise (maybe not far but at least a fight) but injuries.

I think the system and how we didn't lose our main shooters for long periods of time. that high pick n' roll to the corner 3 is still being used, the low screen for the kick outs and high screens for the iso to Melo and JR w/ the rebounding is just something we've had the majority of the yeat and hit at a outstanding rate.

I don't care who is missing, Milwaukee sucks. Period. Like Boston wouldn't be up 3-0 on the Bucks.
Miami earned the right to play the worst team to make the playoffs in ten years. that is what the Number one seed gets you.

IND/NY should be a great series

I say NY in 6 though, they have HCA and IND just doesn't have a real go to guy.

George is overrated as a primary scorer, he shoots 42%, and rarely gets to the FT line.

Knicks are definitely looking good. But the Celtics have been pure c__p, and it's hard to think things would have been very different if the Celts were playing the Bucks. Celtics have been Jekyll and Hyde all year, and they're deep in their Hyde right now. By all rights they'll be swept, though they played really really badly for stretches and then, seemingly on a dime, put together stretches of inspired play. They could still do that for a few games, not that it would change the outcome.

Taking anything from this series is still tough though.

Kidd's jumper is kinda iffy at times... right now Pablo might be better than Kidd overall. I think Kidd still has that smarts over him, but Pablo knows how to play too.

Knicks have won the last 6 games now against BOS.

Knicks are now 19-2 in their last 21 games... and one of those losses was the game in CHA where they rested all their starters and got blown out. Take away that game and NY has won 19 of 20! and even that other loss Melo had a buzzer beater rim out that would have won it.

And keep in mind this is the same Celtics team that nearly ended MIA's 27 game streak until Bron hit that last 2nd jumper. Granted, it was only 1 game, but it's hard to believe they haven't been able to put together one game like that against NY. I mean they put up 106 points that game against MIA, they can't even crack 80 against NY.

Knicks have just taken their game to a new level here.

Melo deserves a ton of credit here.

He's carried this team to 19-2 with very little help. Chandler missed 16 of those games, and has been rusty and almost a non factor in these 3 games against BOS.

JR has been decent... but not star worthy... I mean really it's just been Melo and some role players and he has this team playing at a dominating level.

What are you talking about? Melo did this by himself?

First off Jamal Crawford had the 6th man of the year award locked up until the last 20 games of the season when JR Smith went HAM on the NBA. The man was incredible down the stretch. What games were you watching?

Kmart was vital. Picked up Chandlers role like he Was in his prime again.

Prigioni took over the starting PG role when this whole streak started and has been amazing.

Raymond Felton made everyone forget Linsanity by playing solid solid basketball.

Shumpert returned to pre surgery form

Kidd, Copland, Novak, all chipped in.

Melo had tons of help. This is a solid deep team.

I've been saying this for years. The PG is the QB. Last year the Knicks had Douglas, Bibby, Davis. They got crushed.Problem for Boston is that even with Rondo, they lose this series. Maybe not as bad, but no way they beat NY with this team.

JR was great down the stretch, I meant he's been decent in this series. and I never said Melo has done it by himself.

But u look at this roster, Felton who was run out of town in POR. Kmart who nobody wanted. Prigs a 35 year old rookie... Chandler who hasn't been a factor really in almost 2 months...

On most good teams, role players need to perform at an above expected level in order for the team to go to the next level.

Take it from J Kidd, Kmart saved our season. And JR is not the second best player, Chandler is.

Ask any playoff team if they would take Kmart now knowing what he can still produce.

And what does Prigioni being 35 have to do with anything? Hes still a good player and belongs in this league, regardless of age.

Right now, hes far from our 2nd best player. He's been that at times this season, but for the larger majority of the season its been JR, and its been JR for close to 2 months.

I'd say on this current run, its:

Melo than JR than Felton than KMart. I would even put Pablo and Shump as bigger difference makers than Chandler right here and now.

We got used to playing without him, hes pretty much easing his way back slowly and I'm cool with that, hes not much of a factor right now but were not skipping a beat and hes making his way there.

Dude. We are witnessing our Knicks on another level and then funny thing is ....I think we can pick it up at another level. Especially Melo and Jr as long as he doesn't get suspended Lmao.

The Kidd Pablo thing is debatable. I think its cause they both bring so much to our team but in different ways. Pablo just has unlimited energy for a 35 year old. Kidd is just old Lol but he uses his wisdom and mind to outplay everyone else....sort of like Picollo from DBZ :)

Chandler is the second best player on the team regardless.

He's not healthy yet. I think all Knicks fan know he is still not 100%. K Mart was such a HUGE pick up for us.

If we have one game where we can combine our best offensive effort with this current defense + Tyson healthy and effective we will be at our peak.

I tried telling everybody that our 4th quarter D was way more telling than our overall regular season D. We coasted through games and it was obvious, we cranked it up a notch in the 4th all year. I think we were 3rd in 4th quarter defense and we were up there in point differential. Thats a product of having a very old team with old accomplished vets who preach nothing but saving it for the stretch run, be it the stretch run of games, or the stretch run of the season. Our late season surge illustrates that mentality as well.

We coasted. So obvious now. You gotta love out vets and how many people made fun of us because of our off season?

I don't even think Melo is shooting at his best right now either. With Pablo getting healthy in the starting lineup I expect to turn it up a notch. Same for Tyson as the playoffs continues.

In the beginning of the season the stats was showing our defense would pick up as the game goes on. BTW what does this team remind you of?

you're right, Tyson hasn't been our 2nd best player in a while.

Not to gloat, but when I called a sweep before the series started backed up with sound reasons for it, some poster named Green Monster called it laughable. Would love to hear his thoughts now.

Knicks aren't that good. Boston just sucks

Gotta love this. Yes, 54 flukey wins and a potential sweep of a team many "experts" on here predicted would win the series.

Justinnum1 tried so hard to convince himself the C's were going to win this series handily.

Honestly I was one of those guys who thought this series would be good just because of Boston's recent playoff history. But man, it couldn't have been more obvious after game 2. What a fool I was......

Don't feel bad, you're not the only one. People have been underrating this team all year.

So you might have it the other way around, you didn't overrate the Cs, you underrated the Knicks.

I think many people, expert analysts, reporters and posters alike, got caught up in the mystique of Boston's ability to 'turn it on'. I believe in the 'switch' to a degree, but the talent has to be present for that switch to work. The talent wasn't there this year, this is not Rondo-Pierce-KG-Allen. This is Pierce-KG and little else. They are too old to shoulder that load, Green is honestly their only dynamic player right now and the only guy who puts pressure on the defense. They have got to be the easiest team to defend in the NBA without Rondo.

I guess you can make yourself believe anything. But there was no objective evidence to support a Celtics victory in the series. And I, probably rightly, couldn't find justification to predict a single win for them.
