Will there every be a female coach in the NBA? Not simply a head coach, but even just an assistant? And if so, how long will it be until this happens?

There will be a female head coach someday. I'll say the same for football and that is a lot less likely.

I'm sure Hollywood will make a movie about it too.

I think there will be women who are qualified to, I just dont know if she'll be able to garner the respect of a bunch on NBA players.

No. Why? There are currently a ton of NBA players who have egos that are too big for male head coaches, imagine the **** show that ensue in a locker room if we were to put a female head coach to try to coach those types of players. Hell, there hasn't been an assistant female coach yet. Baby steps.

Wasnt Whoopi Goldberg the coach for The Knicks in a movie?

But to answer the question hell no! They won't listen to her and if she was a head coach she'll be fired faster than Mike Brown did.

In his autobiography, Wilt Chamberlain mentions how he was going to have female coach back when he played ( forget for which of his three teams ) and every player refused because they felt she would not be able to understand the male perspective.

Assistant maybe. I just can't see it. Especially with how some of the players would act. Maybe in 50 years things would be different.

Not unless they forcÚ players to stay the 4 years at ncca and actually graduate, and not because they play basket but because they deserve to graduate..

If not you are putting a woman into the mouth of a pack of male chauvinistic uneducated wolves.
