In an important game with potential playoff implication, the Mavs, who have been climbing their way back into playoff contention faced off against the Lakers who are also battling for that 8th and final playoff spot. The Lakers though are the ones who pulled away with the win. Washington, who is over .500 at home this season, defended their home court against the Bulls. Wall had another great game. And Carmelo poored in 50 points as he lead the Knicks to their third win over the Heat.

melo had a great scoring night but this is for the best STAT LINE. stat line is not just points but for every basic stat including points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks.

so i voted kobe

Didn't Kobe have triple double

Kobe's line isn't right up there. Honestly can't go wrong with any of the 3. Probably take Melo cause of the 50 and high efficiency

Didn't Kobe have triple double

Yeah he had 23 points, 11 boards, 11 dimes, 4 steals and 2 blocks

Kobe's triple double is pretty nice and it was an important game; however dropping 50pts has only been done 3 times this season! Voted for Carmelo Anthony easily.

Yeah, 50 points is still 50 points. I'd give it to Melo as well

Kobe did have a triple double and his overall stat line provided more production, but 50 points is a much harder accomplishment than a triple double, which we're seeing pretty much every week. Melo was unbelievably efficient in the process and the Knicks beat the Heat in Miami. Sure, Lebron and Wade weren't playing, but that didn't stop the Heat from beating San Antonio. It's a pretty easy vote for Melo for me.

Was between Kobe and Melo for me, and dropping 50 on that % is unreal, but it's hard to knock a triple double over a guy who only had 2 rebounds and 2 assists

Being a Knicks fan I would have voted Melo if he dropped 50 on Heat with LBJ and Wade playing. But he dropped it on a depleted Heat roster, plus his other stats are nothing to write home about, so I voted for the Black Mamba!

I want to pick Kobe, with the bias in me standing out, but I have to go with Melo pretty easily. Kobe's stat line is prettier because it is more balanced, but 50 points is that much more impressive and difficult.

Hey guys... my bad. Kobe's line was a little different. As somebody mentioned already its was : 24 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, 4 steal and 2 blocks....

I'm going to record this as a tie for line of the night between Kobe and Melo so both will be options for line of the week. My apologies, I must have pulled the stats before the game was over thinking it was the final.

While Game Score isn't perfect, Melo had a game score of 41 while Kobe had a game score of 25. It's Melo here and it's not even close.

Kobe had a triple double in a much more important game. Saying "Its not even close" seems a little far fetched to me

can't go wrong with either. 50 points is more rare than triple doubles, and melo got there in an ultra efficient way.

i still went with kobe, even though i've been arguing against people's obsessions with triple doubles all year. my heart certainly isn't in it.

uh no, 50 points on 70% shooting and just 26 FGA is much more impressive.

Bron or no Bron... Battier is still a very good defender.

Great to see so much praise for a 50 point game. Where were all these people Kobe did it 4 times in a row a few seasons ago?

Melo had a great night. Anytime you can get that many points on that kind of shooting efficiency and do it in a win, that's a great night.

Personally, if i'm running a team i'd MUCH rather have Kobe's line. You can't rely on a guy to drop 50 every night, especially against a team missing it's two best players. I like that the whole team got involved, and Kobe didn't even have to lead the team in scoring for them to win.

But on an individual night basis, my hat's off to Melo.

Statistically speaking of course. Context tends to be removed from these polls for me. (That way I don't end up penalizing a guy who's team lost for instance). I look at it almost like fantasy basketball.
