What skills have you seen a player do impressively or good enough to seem like he'd do it more, but hasn't?

For example: A player used a hook shot a few times, connected on it, and the way he did it looked great. For some reason he barely uses it. Why?

If Chris Bosh posted up and used his nice hookshot instead of shooting jumpers like a complete puss, the heat probably would have won.

On a serious note, Steve Nash shooting/scoring. I understand his passing skills set up not only his teammates, but his wide open looks. Additionally, his efficiency would most likely go down with more attempts. But he has incredibly underrated finishing abilities to go with that jumper, and he rarely takes more than 10 shots per game.

ellis driving to the rim at 6'3 hes smaller and alot faster than most 2's in the league and can get past them at will but instead decides to take a jump shot from 18-25 ft i just dont understand it. Ive played basketball for years and understand it uses more energy to drive on a regular basis but he could prob up his shooting % at least .02-.05 and up his ppg and eff

jr boogie suffers from the same problem...but it looks like something may have clicked and the switch is on for JR (hopefully)
