Me and a couple people at work were discussing this today. What would be more impressive? The Heat beating the regular season streak of 33 or if they went undefeated in the playoffs?

Undefeated in the playoffs.

undefeated in the playoffs. miami has never swept a series in the big 3 era...

undefeated in the playoffs. Partially because they are currently so far along in the 33 straight win mission that the finish line is in sight and its a very realistic goal. (given how close they are right now)

Also- no matter how great of a team you are- its tough to beat another good team 4 times straight. And to do it 4 seperate times. its amazing. From a business prospective- I dont think the nba front office wants one team sweeping through the playoffs. Those game 7s where nobody knows whats gonna happen are what playoff basketball is all about IMO.

sweeping a series is actually an underrated accomplishment. Just doing it once is not easy in todays NBA.... even for great teams.

I voted "They go undefeated in the playoffs", but both streaks would be incredibly impressive.

It's definately go undefeated in the playoffs but even then people would nit-pick because of a weak eastern conference ...even if they went through tough teams like the Nets-Pacers-Thunder to get it.

...and yes I left out listing my Knicks just to avoid getting homer bashed. :)

16-0 at the playoffs>>>>>>>>>anything in the regular season except 80 wins.

8 teams have done it but 5 before the 1958 season which they omly needed 6 wins or fewer to reach the finals. The 89 and 2001 lakers did it with 11-0 records. i guess in this playoff format its never been done.

Sweeping the playoffs. That's 16 straight wins against really good teams.

Pretty sure we're including the finals, where the 1989 Lakers got swept and the 2001 Lakers lost game 1. I'm pretty sure no team has gone undefeated in the playoffs, at least in the current 16 team format.

Undefeated in the playoffs for sure but that isn't going to happen. The teams, the crowd, the atmosphere is just too tough to not lose even once.

Technically no team has ever gone undefeated in the NBA Playoffs. Lakers went the closest in 2001 with a 15-1 record.
