View Full Version : World Peace Sidelined At Least Six Weeks With Torn Meniscus

Metta World Peace will be sidelined a minimum of six weeks after undergoing surgery Thursday on the torn lateral meniscus in his left knee, the Los Angeles Lakers announced.

World Peace sustained the injury in Monday's loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Mike D'Antoni told reporters earlier Wednesday that he is not optimistic about World Peace returning to the Lakers this season.

World Peace has averaged almost 13 points and five rebounds in 70 games this season as the lone Lakers starter to play in all games before the injury.

Yeah Clark and Jamison can fill in to an extent, but LA just lost their defensive stopper. The lakers will miss Artest more than the fans think right now.

Dantoni is such a ****.

i'd say that it isn't a big deal if the lakers weren't so terrible defensively, because his offense blows. but even though he's not an all-league defender anymore, this loss will hurt an already terrible defense.

His D will be missed. Its hilarious how injured this team has been

I'll say it again - I am not a fan of his, but this definitely hurts. The Lakers are thin at the 3, and Mike D'Antoni already runs a short rotation as is with extensive minutes (no surprise Metta got injured ) At this point though, it doesn't really matter in the long run. Metta isn't the x-factor needed to win the title. Whether if he's at 100 or not, the team is going nowhere this season.

Injuries are ****ing us so hard

Good riddance to one of the more pathetic human beings of this sports generation. Lakers will miss him, but who cares. They're going nowhere this season regardless. "#truth"

Stay out, Ron.
