I don't forsee the Kings and Cousins giving us anymore problems now Bogut is back. He gives us that defense and rebounding that we lacked before and the Kings seemed to exploit that well in the past. Should be a nice easy game like Washington.

Again, not saying Kings didnt have support...just saying as a franchise the Sonics have had more support. Historically, they've been a more successful franchise..(not including OKC tenure)

In terms of wins/losses? that won't have any impact on the Board of Governors decision.

Anyway, good game. Hopefully we visit Oracle next year as the Sac Kings and not Seattle.

1. Arena
2. Ownership
3. Market

agreed. but sac cant touch seattle media market wise. bar none.

Here's the argument for Sac's media market over Seattle's:

Among the contentions: Sacramento attracted more fans in 20 of the 23 seasons both cities had NBA teams. The NBA also would own a 100 percent market share in Sacramento, while the league would compete with the NFL (Seahawks), MLB (Mariners) and MLS (Sounders) in Seattle and possibly a future NHL team. According to the latest Nielsen ratings, the Seattle-Tacoma region is the 12th biggest television market in the country, while Sacramento-Modesto-Stockton ranks 20th.

agreed...but media share is different than media coverage..a franchise in seattle would get more national coverage than sacramento.

but i touched on this earlier in some other thread. 100% media share is crucial..NBA is smart (spurs, blazers, jazz, magic).

Win. LOL at Kevin Johnson calling Sacramento one of the top markets in the NBA, what a ****ing fool.

The stats, sellout record, and market value have proven that Sac is indeed one of the top markets. It's just been really down over the last 5 years, especially with the combination of the team leaving and the economy. And another thing, the actual stats and attendance records prove that Sac is certainly a better market than Seattle. They've sold out more games/seasons and have generated more money than Seattle and their fans did for the Sonics. Just wanted to inform you about something that you were oblivious to. Anyways, good matchup tonight. It's always fun to watch these two teams play each other since neither team plays defense lol. And of course, all of us in Sac will be rooting for the warriors when it comes to the lakers. Laker haters united we stand. Nice win on Monday night.

Exclusive market share has to do with that. But on a national scale, Seattle can do more damage.

Not saying it will, but it certainly can.

Don't you think Sacramento will get as much national time if it stays? New arena, new ownership, likely a better roster. Also don't forget the Kings will be globalizing to India thanks to Vivek Ranadive.

tapajafri
03-28-2013, 01:40 AM
Sac is NOT bigger than seattle.

It's not bigger as in the size of the city. If that's what you're saying, then you are correct. But Sac's attendance and sellouts far trumps Seattle's. They've been compared year by year, and the records show Sac has generated more money, ticket sales, and have had more sellout seasons than Seattle by a landslide. I'm not knocking Seattle one bit. They're a great city with passionate fans and I still call the Thunder the Seattle Sonics. OKC is a bunch of bs. However, the stats don't lie. As great of a city/market seattle is, Sac has been better.

Oh definitely, I agree with you 100% on that. I do recall when the Kings were the best team in the league back in the early 2000's. They had fans all over the country. They did what Miami does now....fans cheering in every arena they go to on the road. So in terms of this national scale damage, of course it would do more in Seattle if Seattle is good. And if Sac is good, they'll do national damage as well like they did when they were title contenders a decade ago. Same would go for the warriors if they were one of the top 5 teams in the league, and most other teams not named the clippers lol. Talk about bandwagon....

Unfortunately that's the problem with jump shooting teams. Especially a 3 point shooting team... you live or die by the 3. Today, the shooters were off, and they died to the jump shot. Reminds me of the 2009 Orlando Magic... they died in the finals when they couldn't hit their shots. But the warriors have options inside with Landry and Lee, but that's if Curry and Thompson realize it's a bad night and quit jacking up shots. Hopefully come playoff time they're consistent from long range... i'll be rooting for GS in the playoffs

off topic but us fans in sac actually appreciate donaghy now lol. He exposed Dick bavetta and bob delaney (the two officials that kept calling those BS calls in game 6 against the lakers) and donaghy talked about how they would get memos from the nba in the morning of an important playoff game, targeting certain players (like vlade divac, scot pollard, and chris webber) and to give LA more chances at the free throw line and other stuff like that. Whether you believe him or not, that's up to u. But a lot of us in sac certainly don't doubt that he's telling the truth and trying to take the NBA down with him lol. Dick Bavetta is the ref we hate in Sac. Fans around the league also don't like him for other reasons when he tried to screw their teams in some other non relevant games. I'm praying he doesn't get any warrior playoff games.

yup pretty much. I like their post options though when the shooters are off. Landry and Lee can both score from the high and low post. I was wondering why GS wasn't working through those two guys more often during the 4th quarter tonight when clearly the shooters were having an off night. Landry had another solid game too. Every time I watch him play, he's always steady.

slice it up how you want...but the warriors are a jump shooting team. when klay n curry are off, the warriors are doomed.

Actually last night- I dont know why they didnt just keep going to the basket. They were scoring tons in the paint in the first quarter. It was like curry wanted to get his outside shot falling so bad that they stopped looking for easy baskets. The kings defense didnt change. They were going right at curry all night. So they should have just been running pick and rolls for andrew bogut, and david lee. I mean I know they missed a few close shots early- but i still would rather keep attacking the basket.

Then late in the game- carl landry seemed to be able to do whatever he wanted INSIDE. This game was very winnable even with currys shot not falling. The warriors just needed to take what the defense was giving them. In this case- it was as many point blank looks as they wanted if they ran some backdoor plays or pick and rolls.

You really dont want to throw away home games to weaker teams at this point in the schedule. I think the team saw houston lost and instead of taking this game to create some seperation... they just figured it was ok to give 20% effort (which was shown by the kings out working them for the boards)

Warriors have enough talent to beat the kings with curry shooting bad
