But not really. We always play them hard, but no Vucevic (averaging 20-20 against MIA) and no chance at all.

i think he's the fourth best passer in the league. his vision is just uncanny. he can make some incredibly difficult passes look easy because of that and his height.

There are 162 games in one season in mlb. To average 400 batting average over a course of a whole year. There is probably near 5x the number of of players in baseball than basketball.

i originally was gonna say "third", behind Rondo and Paul. i said 4th in the end for reasons unknown. there are a few guys that are right there, nash included.

all i really care about magic games are

1. losing (check)
2. moe harkless looking good (not great shooting, but i think he's defended great)
3. tobias harris looking good (check)

that's about it with nicholson continuing to ride the pine and vucci out.

I'm fully aware of that. Yet still one has been done once and the other has been done 28 times. Granted there has been many more opportunities to bat .400 since the MLB has been around about 70 years more than the NBA.

Also position players who regularly play (enough to qualify for the batting title) would probably be the same amount as the NBA.... About 9 players per team.

Yeah, I'd probably say 3rd. I'm really not a fan of Rondo personally, would love to see what he could do with the Wizards or Bobcats, but he's up there. I'm very tempted to say LeBron is 2nd in my opinion but everyone's got different criteria.

As for your boy Harkless, he was really impressive in the game against the Thunder. Definitely showed a glimpse of star potential going up against the 2nd best player in the league and outplaying him. Hope he pans out for you guys. Together with Harris, Vucevic and whoever you can get from a top 4 pick this year, you guys have a solid base.

noel, but i'd be happy with a bunch of guys.

noel is a double win. 1. he'll really help out our defense, which looks to be the biggest issue going forward with this core. 2. he's hurt so he wont make us much better at all next year, thus increasing the odds we get another high draft pick in a rich draft

Lmao at #2.

Next year there might be a couple superstars so i feel you.

But yea Noel at the 5 with Vucevic at be 4 would be awesome.

I would be excited as a Magic fan tbh, i like their future a lot.

A Noel/Vucevic frontcourt would be dominant in a few years. He could be the 3rd franchise big you've drafted in 20 years with the #1 overall pick, which is pretty crazy.

i'm dead serious about #2. we gotta tank again next year.

a big reason why OKC was able to do what they did is because KD wasn't helping them win games his rookie or even sophomore year. they SUCKED for two more years after they got KD, which lead to russy and harden. we gotta take it slow, get rid of the bad contracts, attack the 2014 draft and maybe then spend money in FA. but next year has to be tank season #2.

HuRRiCaNeS324
03-25-2013, 09:24 PM
Also, i would be interesting who turn out to be a better player between Mo Harkless and MKG. They are both kind of similar players.

If Mo woud have stayed another year, i bet he would of been a top 3 pick in this upcoming draft.

I understand you completely. Imagine you get Andrew Wiggins lol (although i think he is signed sealed an delivered to Toronto if they are bad enough).

But i dont think the Magic will be bad enough to get a top 3 pick next year. If their young nucleus continues to develop, there's no way they are that bad again lol. Unless they make a conscious effort to lose lol.

the lakers are losing because:

pau is 1-6

steve nash has no clear role
kobe has 13 points on 13 shots
jamison can't hit anything

I don't remember any fans saying we would beat the spurs. A lot of us, yes, including myself, feel we have a better shot vs Spurs than OKC, MEM, DEN or LAC. Better shot doesn't mean we are even close to beating them it just means our chances are higher, even if only by a few percentage points.

For as potentially legendary the Heat have been this season, the Lakers have set precedent for patheticness this year. They are historically disappointing and whether they get the 8 seed or miss the playoffs, they'll be the most disappointing team in NBA history.

Touted as a team that could win 70 games or beat the Heat, they might barely get to .500.

You have Kobe Bean to blame for that. They Lakers would be far better with just Nash, Gasol and Howard.

i felt that big 4 were perfect compliments. boy was i wrong. i was terrified to watch them early on, especially that first magic game (we won!), because i thought they were going to be just stupid good and i wasn't ready to deal with that. nope. huge let down.

How do you disagree with the first part? Kobe's never been the main cog on winning teams. I'm not saying he's not great. That he doesn't defy age. But his championships are a credit to Shaquille O'Neal and Pau Gasol/Lamar Odom/Andrew Bynum. Size always drove Phil Jackson's Lakers teams and Kobe went nowhere in the years he didn't have it (05-08). This year, he's been more concerned with averaging 27 a game instead of averaging 20 and making sure Gasol/Howard got 40 combined as well. He laid the groundwork for this season by relentlessly letting everyone know it was his team in the preseason. He's not ready to let go.

Instead, he tried to overshadow Nash and said 'I could've been the greatest PG ever', going on assist runs. And when he wasn't doing that, he was limiting Howard to 8 shots a game. Health has played concern with this team, but the main problem is Kobe isn't LeBron James. He doesn't make ANYBODY better.

He came into the season trying to get 30 a night and trying to win 70 games, being the hero and telling Dwight Howard to be his Tyson Chandler.

They should not have rushed Pau, have him come off the bench. But when you have Kobe firing up shots left and right, it's hard for him to get going.

i disagree with the claim the Lakers would be better without Kobe than they are with him because it's stupid and incorrect. kobe is their best player. does he make some bad decisions? sure. does he sometimes play in a way that is a detriment? sure. but they aren't better off without him. jodie meeks getting 30 minutes a game would sure be a sight to see :laugh2:

you talk about kobe never being the main piece on winning teams (what?), but are acting like nash, dwight and pau had more success as the best options? huh?

nash is ancient; he isn't what he once was. dwight has been hurt and clearly not himself; he's not what he's always been. blaming kobe completely for their struggles is just silly.

i do agree that kobe has marginilized nash, but nash running an offense with pau and dwight isn't gonna be what it might have been if they were all healthy 28 year olds. they NEED kobe's scoring.

kobe is a hindrance at times, but it's far less frequent than when he's an asset.

He's not a hindrance at times. He's a hindrance most of the time. Again, he's a great player. And that's why the 09-10 teams worked because those players complemented him well. But their size dominated. Go look at Kobe's series, none of them were that great.

This team doesn't work well for him. Nash should have the ball at all times. Don't say he's ancient. He averaged like 12.5 points and 11 assists last year. This year he's averaging like 6 1/2 assists because Kobe hogs it alot.

no **** kobe has the ball in his hands a lot. what else did you expect? you thought nash would run the same system he did in PHX playing next to a guy like kobe and still be getting 11 assists a game? of course not, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. it's not like nash was leading those teams anywhere. even in his prime, it's not like that was winning games.

kobe is having one of his better seasons. he has an assist% of 30. of course that's gonna dip into nash's APG...and that's not a terrible thing.

nash not getting 10 assists a game is not why this team isn't succeeding. in fact, you focus on offense and pretending like that's the problem shows you're misguided here. the lakers are probably the 6th or 7th best offense in the nba. defensively they're well below average.

again, i do think nash's role has been marginilized, but that's playing only a small role into their woes. if you can't see that, well, i'm sorry.

well, considering they'd be fools to not re-sign dwight, amnestying either of them isn't actually gonna get them even close to under the cap. it's kinda pointless. maybe they amnesty nash for the 2014/15 season...but amnestying gasol isn't gonna happen. if they were able to get under the cap then maybe, but it wouldn't actually do them any good.

As a Rockets fan, I don't care who gets the 8th seed as long as Houston is in. But as an NBA fan, I've got to admit that a Dirk vs. Kobe for the 8th seed in the West is adding a hell of a lot of intrigue to what should otherwise be a relatively dull story line. Dubs aren't based solely on shooting - that's what the whole move for Bogut was (taking a huge risk for size/interior D in doing so), and D. Lee leads the NBA in double doubles, many of those points coming off drives and put backs. That said, I want Curry+Klay taking 20 threes a night - the NBA has never seen a more prolific 3pt shooting backcourt. Title contenders are tough to come by in this super-team era, but they're making teams earn it against them.

So you can be a team of losers, have your fan base hate you, eventually to hope for the #1-5 pick and try to luck out on a college freshman with upside who will likely leave you in 3 years if you still suck (which you would). Sound plan, you should GM.

Curry has superstar potential if he becomes an efficient passer. Their core is very, very young. Being a very, very young sixth seed means you have room to improve. Warriors ceiling this year is the second round, but lets be real here. They can become an elite team in 2-3 years if Barnes, Klay, and Curry all develop like they should.

Untrue, and even in that scenario you're still banking on potential and building a 5 year plan minimum before you reach a modicum of success. Most teams don't luck out on a KD/Westbrook/Harden back to back to back my friend.

It's a boring game and both teams aren't even healthy... plus there are only 3 games tonight... making something out of nothing? :)

Easy game for us as we're starting to find our groove again. Looking good.

lol what? so saying he's been the 2nd best SG in the east is exaggerating yet you can't name someone who's been better? its not like I said "JR is the best SG in the NBA that is 6'5 and black, tatted, plays in NY and that lays pipes"

I'm giving JR some much deserved props... you're a knick fan and you're trying to tear him down?

I'd lump him in with Monta/Reddick. Really not saying much to be the 2nd best SG in the East though.

quick OT thing. Because you know Clippers vs Dallas.

The Celtics couldn't rebound for nothing, yet they were shooting 3 pointers like drunken sailors. Not smart. This and turn the ball over in the worst spot in the paint.

Trying to figure out what the Clippers are doing. Why is Blake giving Carter space with his hands down when he's an elite 3 point shooter? Force him to drive into the paint, it's a much less dangerous situation.... ALWAYS put your fu**ing hands up on shooters.

Then Blake is letting Brand manhandle him instead of going with power and pounding him to force some fouls. Brand has elite length for his height.. it's stupid to try and shoot hook shots in his face etc. Go up hard and try to dunk on him... force him to foul.

He listened to me how? My complaint is his rookie level defense this game. He started off playing great D on Dirk but he's getting torched for lazy *** D now and crying to officials as you said like a punk. If he listened to me though it was attacking for a dunk and getting Brand his 3rd foul, so it worked!

Anyways how the fu** is that off the Clippers? Clearly Mayo hit it out.

Oh I see what you mean. Thing is I don't expect him to be able to guard a SG scorer like Vince 1 on 1, plus as you said Vince hit a "sick" (meaning tough as hell) shot. So it was pretty well contested. I don't get on players for contesting tough shots that go in but rather when they make it easy or play lazy.

Yea you didn't miss much. Pretty much the norm of recent. Shoot a very good 50 percent, but give up 55 percent shooting. Blake+CP3 carried us per usual with guys like DJ+Green pulling vanishing acts like usual. I'm tired of having so many players who kill teams one night, then do NOTHING the next night. We need more players who are just solid all the time.
