Jacoby Ellsbury left the game in the second inning, after jamming his right heel trying to get back to first base on a pickoff throw in the first inning.

The Red Sox announced that Ellsbury left the game for precautionary reasons. He will be re-examined tomorrow.

Shane Victorino moved from right to center and Bryce Brentz went in to play right.

Ellsbury had reached on catcher's interference before attempting his first stolen base after that and was thrown out by Humberto Quintero.

It's nothing. On the next pitch he tried to steal 2b. If it was a regular season game he would have stayed in, in fact I've seen him do that before in regular season games and stay in.

He'll be fine. Hit a snag on his back ankle sliding into 1B.

If he's out JBJ will definitely stick.

Yup. I don't want Ellsbury to be injured, but I'd love to see JBJ manning CF.

Ellsbury is such a *****. Put Bradley in CF, move Ellsbury to RF, dimish his value and collect the draft pick when he signs somewhere else.

He said today that he feels "fine" and can play on Wednesday.

He should feel fine. He might have rolled his ankle a little bit, but didn't he try to steal 2nd on the next pitch?

Hope he's not injured to seriously. We need a healthy Ellsbury if we wish to contend this year.
