View Full Version : Who will be the next player to record a quardouple-double?

Only four players have done it: Thurmond, Hakeem, Alvin Roberston (the only one to do it with steals) and Robinson. Hakeem only did it once, but he came close several other times. Drexler was one assist short of a 4D game with steals once and on another occasion was one rebound short! Mookie Blaylock was 2 rebounds short of a 4D with steals once.

Is anybody in the league today capable of doing it?

There are few big men in the league who can pass like Dream and Robinson. But among the centers that can, I think Noah and Horford are the most likely to get a 4D game.

I'd like to say Monroe, but he doesn't block shots like that, and Hibbert and Howard can't pass the ball that well.

Among guards, I think Rubio may be able to pull it off. Only 9 players have ever gotten double-digits in steals, so that would put Rubio in some rare company.

And I wouldn't say it is out of the realm of possibility for LBJ. He is amazing, but he'd have to have a big night with steals or blocks and I haven't seen that out of him yet (though he does get his share of both).

Who do you think could pull it off?

Spencer Hawes just missed it by 2 blks and 2 assists the other night

There was a thread up exactly like this about a month ago. Rondo gets my vote.

Noah is probably the safest bet.

But they're so incredibly rare that it's probably more likely that no active player gets one than otherwise

I could actually see cp3 being a threat to that feat.

He is capable of getting 10 steals imo.

Ibaka and Rubio worth noting as well.

Yeah it has got to be a stat padding whore but I can't see Rondo doing it because I can't see him literally getting 10 steals in a game by playing the passing lanes.

It'll probably be somebody we never pictured getting it

Only reason I picked Noah over Ibaka is because Ibaka's never had more than 4 assists in a game, and I think he's only done that twice or something. Noah has gotten 10 assists and 10 blocks in a game before. It just seems so improbable that Ibaka ever gets 10 assists in a game.

And the only reason Crooner chose Ibaka is because he plays for the Spanish national team.

Noah is way more likely than Ibaka.

Too rare to predict who will do it. There's probably around 20 guys that fit into that category or have the baseline of skills to get it done. Anybody can go off on any given night...

John Wall will get one I think

Has DMF chimed in yet? I'm sure he would say Deron Williams HANDS DOWN

anyway...Rubio, Noah, Rondo, and possibly Dwayne Wade is he can grab 10 steals in a game

Ibaka is improving everyday.
Not too long back in time he couldnt make a damm jumpshot.
Look at him now.
He still has room to grow.

I thought about him and Drummond too. But again, the passing just seems unlikely. They'll get a few 10 block triple doubles though in their careers for sure.

underrated call....larry sanders

Hahaha you beat me to it!

The only way I could see it though, is if they started letting players get 10 fouls per game.

Another underrated call, Josh Smith. If its one game and he decides he wants to try for 10 blocks, I could see it. Definitely has all the other tools to make it happen.

haha dude has never even gotten a triple double yet.

Marc Gasol comes to mind. Assists for him are easier than the blocks

its a lot easier to improve your jumpshot as opposed to becoming an elite passer. you really think he is going to become a bigman who can dish out 10 assists?

Baller1

Westbrook is most likely.

The way I think of is that if a player can get a triple double then he is more likely to get a quad.

May be a bit homerish but I think Rubio can potentially do it. He was in the top five in steals and assists last year before his injury while his scoring is improving and he is a fairly decent rebounder as well. As a PG, he should stand to have the ball in his hands plenty.

Harden is 5th in the league in steals and gets a bunch of rebounds and assists plus the Rockets play at the fastest pace so he's got as good a chance as anyone.
