Wow I forgot Brooklyn traded their pick for G-Force. It was Damien Lillard too..

Wow looking back, between acquiring Deron and Wallace, they have given up a TON of major assets. Almost makes you think they would have been better off holding on to those picks. They'd definitely be one of the best young teams in the league right now

Damian... They could've had Damian.

the nets were screwed either way. had they not traded for g-force, d-will would have been gone. but still, the #6 pick for an aging gerald wallace :pity:

D-Will being gone means Lillard is starting and you'd get a just a younger, cheaper producer in front of G-force. Nets would be better because of it.

Lillard has been almost as good as Deron has been this season, plus he's a lot younger, cheaper and has a ton of upside.

Meanwhile, Kanter and Favors have both been solid young player that look like they might have potential. Kanter would be a great backup to Lopez and Favors might be starting for the Nets right now.

Lillard/Harris
Brooks
Johnson (lack of a SF)
Favors
Lopez/Kanter

This actually looks like a roster that has a lot of future potential. Of course, they made the right moves at the time. Who is going to turn down getting Deron Williams? Wallace was also one of the best overall SF's when he was in Portland. He was great defensively and efficient offensively.

Nets would of been better off with Lillard

Meh. Nothing about that article was entertaining. And the creator was simply stating the obvious. Nets made a bad deal in hopes to retain Deron...which they did. Nobody could have thought Lillard would be this good.

One of the worst trades ever... Signing Wallace for 4/40 without giving up any assets would have been the dumbest signing of the summer. The Nets also threw in a high lottery pick which turned out to be a future superstar for the right to overpay Wallace. There is no chance Wallace would have received anywhere near that deal in free agency, so trading for him was absolutely ********.

Well, considering they have D-Will, I doubt very much they would have drafted Lillard... never know, but likely not. They didn't have Joe Johnson yet, so they may have looked at a SG... maybe Ross, or Austin Rivers... never know.

Still, I love to see a player who takes ownership over his poor play. A lot of guys blame other things.
