View Full Version : How many rings would LeBron and Wade win if they played together since their draft

I think they would've won about 5-7 rings by now, and about 10-12 rings if they played throughout their career. What say you?

so a maximum of 6.

Zero...they will be too busy competing for stats rather than win. It's not easy for 2 potential superstars drafted together to win anything, not sure it ever happened. If Lebron didn't mature enough to understand how tough it is to win a championship, he'll never have joined Wade and if Wade had not experienced how hard it is to get to the finals after winning a championship, he wont have recruited bron. One would have eventually been traded for veteran stars.

Y'all remember Marbury and Garnett? T Mac and Vince Carter? I am sure if they had played on different teams before getting together 5-10yrs later, they would've appreciated each other more.

Well if Kobe can get drafted into the perfect situation and win 5, I'd say the combo of LBJ and Wade would win at least 5. This is purely speculative since this hypothitical involves so many variables. What if's can be fun, but are all but impossible to prove. I can see this turning ugly quick.

You my friend, just like this thread is laughable..... how do you predict how many rings two people can have in a completely hypothetical situation

for example, so wade and mello were both drafted to the heat/cavs... the heat then most likely do not acquire Shaq..so does he stay in LA? does he go elsewhere? If that's the case then you can't predict what teams they'd be facing..How do you predict what other team's rosters look like???

Them being on the same team would change the dynamic of so many other teams...so this is why it is a TERRIBLE THREAD

Lets say they would play on the Heat together becuase they play there now

03-04:No they were rookies, would probably be in the second round though
04-05:No because even if they get passed Detroit (not likely) they would lose to the Spurs in the Finals. ECF birth
05-06:Yes they would have ate that Mavericks team for lunch.
06-07:No, once again the Spurs in the Finals are too much
07-08:No, the emergance of Boston would take them out in the conference finals
08-09:Yes Lebron and Wade would beat Kobe in the Finals
09-10:No, They would lose in the Finals to the Lakers
10-11:Yes, if they were together the whole time, Dirk's Mavs would lose to them again
11-12:Yes, they already did
12-13:Would be in this scenario and are the favorites to win again.

Total-Assuming Lebron and Wade played together their whole careers they would have alot of success and some failure because we cant assume they would always beat veteran teams like the Spurs/Pistons/Celtics/Lakers when they are only in like their 4th year in the league. I would say right now they would have 4 titles, including 3 in 4 years, and 6 Finals appearances.

And if someone made a "What if Shaq didn't leave Orlando, Penny never got hurt, Grant Hill was healthy T-Mac thread" I'd say the same thing

there is no way both players will be this good playing together since rookie year. one of them most likely became role player or harden and left the team. i don't see them becoming who they are today without those struggles they went through as man of the team and learned from all those mistakes.

i would say 1 or 2 at the most but 3 or 4 wouldn't have been impossible or even more.

but i really hate ifs. we can say same thing about any super star players. like what if yao and tmac became 10x more duo than kobe and shaq. what if dirk was traded to lakers for shaq. i can go on and on with what ifs.

I agree with 03-04 & 04-05 ( because they would have had to learn how to play together, at a championship level )

But from 05-06 - until now, they would have only maybe lost to Boston in 07-08... You are not factoring in everything if you think that Laker team could have beaten the HEAT.

HEAT would have 5 - 6 titles at this point. But yes, everything would be different, including the rigging.

This is all assuming MIA has the same roster plus Lebron (what else can we really do?)

04 - no
05 - w/o Lebron they took DET to 7 and DET took SA to 7. They may have won.
06 - Obviously
07 - Injuries riddled the team and they got swept in the first round. BUT that was the year Lebron took a terrible Cavs team to the finals on his back. SA was amazing that season so I will say they lose in the finals.
08 - They aren't ready for BOS big 3 yet
09 - Lose to LA in finals
10 - Maybe
11 - Being together all these year and so many finals experiences gives them enough to win
12 - duh

So 3 for sure (rather than the 2 the HEAT won in real life) with a possibility of 6 if everything fell right

You forget about Andrew Bynum being healthy. The year I have the Wade and James beating Kobe is the year Bynum is injured (08-09) but I think the Lakers beat Lebron and Wade when they have a prime Kobe, prime Gasol, and a healthy Bynum (09-10). Also if you think a 4th year Lebron and Wade are beating an end of prime Duncan, prime Manu, coming into prime Parker, and Pop, who would be entering a 4th Finals in 9 years (06-07), then you are mistaken.

I don't think they beat any of the Spurs teams. LA might win both since we can assume Miami still has no post presence. LA would have done what Dallas did to the Heat, only worse.

I'd give them 3. It really depends on who their supporting cast is. Without Bosh makes a world of difference.

You obviously cant say they wouldnt win in 2010 if that was their first year and wasnt playing with chemistry..

They wouldve had ALL of the free agents wanting to go there because they wouldnt have been as hated because they did it the right way..

They also wouldve had riley probably coaching or someone better.. And most of all.. They wouldve had to lose only in the finals or ecf after 3 years since the east was down and wouldve had more chances to get titles..

The situation would be TOTALLY different .. Lebron & wade wouldve been beloved and people wouldve been dying to go there and win especially in miami..

Yeah , I don't get this either ... Lebron was a free agent and chose to go play in Miami .. He took a lesser salary then he would of in other places

I mean for all the times I hear people say about superstars "not caring if they win, all they care about is money" ...how about giving a guy some credit for making a decision based on championships and winning

The only criticism I have is the way he did it but even if he did it with a press conference I feel he still would of had the hate

It all depends on how you are going to look at it, are we talking how the players became or how they would have become if they played together from the get go without neither ever having to shoulder the bulk of responsibilty of carrying a team? If it is the latter then not as many titles since neither would have probably reached there potential.

Yeah Magic would have stayed in school if the bulls would have tried to draft him... I guess he wanted to take the easy way out...smh

Hi I'm Bird & I was lucky enough to be drafted by Boston...OMG, look at all this talent.

I'm Kobe and i got 5 rings, but yeah, when I was in my prime, I played along side Shaq, he got all 3 Mvp's... Me and Shaq was the top 3 players in the league... I'm so lucky; and when I was slowing down do to age and injuries, my team got Gasol.

What's up psd posters, I'm Lbj; I was a free agent and everyone hates me because I didn't go to their team.

Wade: I love my kids

Bosh: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SN6Q2TAL0QU

How many rings would Magic and Bird won if they played together from day one? Oh wait, I don't care because that would be a cowardly thing to do.

So was Magic a coward?

ATX, please spare yourself the trouble of dealing them. These are the same people that crucify LeBron and Wade for playing together and will in turn try to downplay the team accomplishments, yet spew their “Kobe is the best” nonsensical agenda despite his team being 9th out West. Again, from the same people who hold up rings (team accomplishment) as the end all be all in the NBA. Don’t bother man……

And did I really just read that Wade didn’t win it all as a #1 option? C’mon…..

Oh that's right they did.... They were fortunate enough to play for historic franchises that only surrounded these individuals with the elite talent they needed to win the chip. Keep calling LeBron and Wade pathetic while your pathetic team struggles to get an 8th seed so they can get swept in the 1st round.

Bingo. Magic nor Bird nor Kobe ever left their team to play with two leaders of their own team to form one team. It has never been done in the history of the NBA for a top flight talent to do this. Kobe has had more roster support than a large chunk of the greats throughout his career. Haha, second fiddle makes it sound worse than what it was, but almost everyone agrees shaq was the best player in the nba at the time. That last part was just to show him how ridiculous it sounds saying because someone has talent on his team he has tarnished his legacy or isn't a great etc. I find it especially funny when it comes from a lakers or kobe fan, who always seem to have amazing teams.

Hakeem and Kobe had the least amount of actual star talent on b2b titles in the HISTORY of the NBA. Kobe and Hakeem certainly did NOT have a fellow top 5 player by their side. Hakeem and Kobe certainly did NOT jump ship to play with two fellow top 10 players in their prime. Jordan certainly did NOT jump ship after losing year after year in the playoffs. As a matter of fact, Kobe, a TRUE competitor and scholar of the game, did the OPPOSITE of what Lebron did; he DEMANDED his own team and shipped SHAQ out of town.

Have ANY of you ever played street basketball? Only the CHUMPS try to stack the teams so unevenly that it becomes boring. I HATE when PUNKS at the playground think it's so cool to STACK their team. It is WEAK and COWARDLY and BORING.

Well of course kobe ended up with more titles, he was gifted another great frontcourt and team. Also he was just entering his prime and shaq was leaving his prime. Shaq LEAD 3 teams to championships, Kobe leade 2. Also this still doesn't take away from the fact kobe played with someone better than him for 8 years.
