Who is the greatest player to jump from high school to the pros?

I'm thinking Kobe but to look further back, there's also Moses Malone.

Yep Lebron is freaking amazing but the way people talk he's already one of the best of all time I just disagree his yearly stats are ****ing insane but his totals wouldn't be anywhere near the greatest. So if god forbid he got hurt and wasn't the same player or never played again he wouldn't be one of the best.

Did Wilt the Stilt make that jump? If so then the choice is obvious. If he didn't go from H.S. to the pros, then it's the Kobe Bryant.

Rather than making this another Kobe vs. Lebron thread, I'll simply make a list without giving significance to either player. Here's my top guys in order...

1a. Kobe Bryant
1b. Lebron James
3. Moses Malone
4. Kevin Garnett
5. Tracy McGrady
6. Dwight Howard
7. Amare Stoudemire
8. Shawn Kemp
9. Rashard Lewis
10. Jermaine O'Neal

Darryl Dawkins and Josh Smith are just outside the top 10 based on their primes, IMO.

anyways i would go

lebron
kobe
kg

i will not comment on moses cuz i really dont know much bout him i do know that he came out of high school was a really good player and im not sure but i think i heard that he was karl malone's brother or something

it's lebron. he had an immediate impact on his team. kobe became a starter on his 3rd season.

lebron is a better basketball player than kobe. he has been since 2004/2005 (lebron's 2nd season).

This statement burns me up for real. Lebron is not more talented than Kobe. Lebron is a physically anomaly. Thats what makes him so unstoppable. If Lebron is still putting these numbers up at Kobes age, then I might have to eat my words, and I will.. But Kobe does not depend on athleticism to score or dominate at this stage in his career. Most Of Lebrons points come from him being a physical specimen that basketball has never seen.

Basically, Kobe learned and acquired his skills through hard work. Lebron was born with incredible physical traits which gave him great basketball talent. Lebron is a more talented basketball player.

To answer the question I think Lebron had the best "jump" from high school to the pro's. He won rookie of the year, and then improved to a star level by just his second year.

If we are talking which player that jumped from high school has the best legacy then it would be Kobe, although this one won't be decided for a few years as many feel that Lebron may pass him by the time his career ends.
