Too late, unfortunately. But the travesty is that West -- who was the one throwing punches -- gets no disciplinary action at all. NOTHING! What's with that??? Does NBA stand for the National Boxing Association?

lol, please
02-27-2013, 07:58 PM
Exactly what I was saying in the NBA thread. It's BS. Suspend them both, or west, or no one. Don't only suspend Lee.

02-27-2013, 11:47 PM
That's why I have a strong dislike for the NBA. The highly advertised stars ALWAYS get the calls in their favor or even token calls just for their benefit. Carmelo bowling over Draymond isn't a foul as he's leading with his shoulder??? And then all those ticky tack calls against the W's was atrocious. It makes the NBA look like a joke league because you already know who is going to win before the game starts because the NBA has to have a succssful Knicks team in order to make even more money than they were before when the Knicks were no good. The W's deserved this game had the right calls, or no calls, been made.

Yea the guy that rebounded the ball for us then handed it back to the Knicks had nothing to do with it at all. And you win as a team and lose as a team you could point to multiple things that happened that cost us the game.

:bs: officiating last game lead to the Lee suspension and :bs: officiating this game helped NY as much as possible.

Landry sucked, Barnes has been MIA, Jack didn't defer to Curry and had some boneheaded turnovers, green did his best but it was too much to ask for him to guard Melo, Beans got outclassed, Festus was Festus, Klay was off but he played alright.

Curry almost won this game by himself

:laugh2:

Why the laugh? JR Smith has had two game winning shots and he sucks.

Joe Johnson has had about nine tying/winning shots this year and he also sucks.

One possession doesn't change the net value of a player. Considering they have one of the strong front courts in the league with Larry Sanders it's kind of embarrassing they are at .500 in the East. Especially since it is in the East.

02-28-2013, 12:25 AM
Also, thank you Ellis, we needed the Rockets to lose.

Guppyfighter

I will also finish with saying if Ellis had more games like this opposed to his standard line than he'd be considered a productive player.

Players who produce a positive net total in points.

I was a little harsh on Joe though. He has been pretty okay. I was just trying to make a point.

Positive net total in points...is that like how much a player scores against them compared to how much they score???

Positive net total in points...is that like how much a player scores against them compared to how much they score???

How much they produce on offense opposed to how much they give up on defense. But when a guy is in the negative because he's on a bad team, it's pretty easy to see his impact with teams' on court, off court production.

It's why Tyreke Evans sucks.

Roughly 1.5-3 games better with Brandon Rush. Technically if we had him we in theory should have the same record now assuming average play in close games, which we are above average in right now. That will regress though.

Uh, not all games have the same variance. I did think the Spurs would win, I just decided the Warriors had good enough value to bet on.

And you are confusing types of stats again. I have explained the difference before.

Some games have 60-40 variance. Barely any games have a 95 percent confidence in a team winning. Example of one that would fit that. Clippers over Bobcats. When the Clippers were at home.

you knew the spurs would win but put your money on the warriors anyways?

i mean...why would you go against your infallible, 95% confidence interval stats?

sounds like you casted doubt sir. even you werent sure of the outcome...i guess 95% isnt confident enough.

the linked post clearly has you saying the spurs would win.

Come on, Mackie. 95 percent confidence interval stats aren't infallible... which is why they are at 95 percent.

Its even a joke among statisticians.

Mark Twain.

But yeah, that's because most stats are like "25 percent of people are cyber bullied." or "25 percent of women are raped on college campuses."

Both are false, but they change the definition to something extremely broad, ask vague questions, and determine they fit under.

The rape one in fact, was basically just a study in a college class room. She asked questions about the girls, gave her own specific definition on rape. And said 25 percent of girls were raped. That's why that quote is so great. Mark Twain is right in that people use statistics to push agendas.

But most people use it wrong. Like when talking advanced stats in baseball or basketball.

I googled this. Apparently, MT attributed it to Benjamin Disraeli who was a British Prime Minister.

I called them infallible because guppy treats advanced stats like they are from the bible and lives by them.

He even admitted that he thought the Spurs would win and they didnt. He was clearly wrong but wont admit it.

That's because no matter how well the eye test is it doesn't tell what stats I mean advanced stats tell. U can never get the whole story watching the game

I said I did think the spurs were going to win, but I bet on the Warriors. And no, no one thinks stats are infallible. Jesus christ, Mack. There is a variation game to game. Warriors at home vs the Spurs was 70-30 Spurs.

Warriors win that one match up 30 percent of the time. It was a statistical probability. That's why I bet the +150.

This line of phrasing is particularly annoying because people who use advanced stats obviously watch the sport. You think we are using them, twiddling our thumbs, just using stats saying **** the sport.

Anyways, no, you don't need to see the games know how good a team is or not. As much as people hate that, stats are very predictive. Now if you actually want to enjoy the game, you watch it, like I do.

Hahaha don't worry man I'm just giving u shi* cuz we always butt heads about this. I don't question u actually watch the game. Although we disagree about a lot. I do respect how insightful u are with advanced stats.

Uh, not all games have the same variance. I did think the Spurs would win, I just decided the Warriors had good enough value to bet on.

And you are confusing types of stats again. I have explained the difference before.

Statistics people are careful to never guarantee something. They will never go above 95 percent. Even if there is no way a team can win, they will go to 99.7 percent. its a bit of statistics related joke. haha.
