Looks like Hibbert/Curry might get a minor suspension. Lee might even get a game. West is the one who I think has a serious chance to get him with some real games. He swung.

Its hard to notice but he did swing at Curry and almost looked like he may have connected. But it also sort of looked like he was just reaching overhand into the crowd to pull people back.

It was either Thompson or Curry but I think it was Curry. Its kind of late in the vid and weird because he was trying to get his guys out of there after that. Part of me thinks he made a very aggressive grab over the pile trying to rally his troops.

D-Leethal
02-26-2013, 10:39 PM
Actually it looks like it was Biedrins. Check :18 secs in. I'm not convinced he swung on purpose but looks like he connected and the dude fell.

It looks like at first Curry went to try to kind of separate the two because his back was turned to Lee and couldn't tell Lee was already walking away. Roy tossed him than Curry went at him aggressively and got tossed again.

David Lee? The guy is nice as hell and he didn't blame anybody and owned it if you watched his post game interview (you didn't), whereas in Roy's post game interview he was like "yeah so uh Steph pushed me and man I mean I didn't even feel em".

Mascot down! Mascot down! The Cleveland Cavaliers’ mascot, Moondog, had to be taken to a local hospital last night, when a playfight with David West of the visiting Indiana Pacers got a little too rough. The Plain Dealer reports: “The Cavaliers’ growing injury list will now include its team mascot. Moondog needed to be taken to a local hospital after suffering an eye injury during a pre-game play fight with Indiana Pacers forward David West at The Q on Wednesday night. The Cavalier canine was later released and a team spokesman said he should be fine. The club did not update his status for Sunday’s game against Orlando. It’s unclear whether the Cavs, already without Kyrie Irving and Anderson Varejao among others, will need to promote a mascot from the NBA Development League. ‘He jumped at me so I thought we were playing around and then the next thing I know he went down,’ West told reporters after the game. ‘It was definitely an accident.’ Moondog was spotted running through the hall, his dog head removed, clutching a towel to his eye. The mascot occasionally has fun sparring with opposing players before the game or during a timeout. Moondog and West exchanged some playful punches and apparently one caught him hard enough to do damage.”

Oh yeah, but it's a sin for Tyler Hansbrough to play the same kind of D....

And Hibbert was just not gonna back down. He is labeled as soft and the fact that he did something like that was way out of character.

Again, I guess physical play is going to get called fake tough and dirty especially when the Pacers do it.

some of these posts are just byist posts. unfortunately im a sixers fan but what is hibbert to blame for here?

he bumped lee first? thats 2 bigs banging down low...it happens all the time when players get physical....see howard, etc happens all the time with bigs. david lee was the instigator here...he threw the cheap shot first and hibbert shoved him back in retaliation. he didnt throw a right hand. and than lee pushed him again. curry not once, but twice tried to blindside hibbert in the back of his knees, and hibbert self-defended himself? what would you do in the situation?

dont understand the hibbert hate. clearly d lee was upset that golden state has been getting beat up (ie: houston) lately and he didnt have a good night compared to how he's been playing...b/c of the defense by hibbert/west, not to mention he has no center

if you are gonna post be realistic. not bias. no arguments should be thrown towards this...better off looking at the man in the mirror...truth

If you're not ready to play a tough physical game, don't play the Pacers...they will beat the hell out of your players lol. And honestly Hibbert didn't do anything wrong neither did David West, I think David Lee kind of overreacted to that bump by Hibbert.

I'd be pissed if I was Hibbert too just saying. He's going for the offensive board, and Lee was just being lazy. A shove off with one arm is fine, but lee pretty much turned around and shoved with 2 hands to stop him from grabbing the rebound. That would piss the **** out of u.

Curry, lol that was funny. Thrown down like a little ***** ahaha. But at least he stuck up for his teammate against a guy whos a lot bigger than him. STill funny nonetheless.

Yeah I hate the Pacers and West didn't really do anything that I could see, if he did swing, he is a GIANT *****. That would be the weakest punch ever thrown.

Hibbert is just a big ****. It's like he thinks because he is so big, everyone should be scared of him. Take a foul like a man, I don't care how hard he pushed you. But he has to many of these little temper tantrums. Should get multiple games. Jarrett Jack should also get a game because he came in and basically moved the pile towards the crowd. I think Lee will get hit with another flagrant.

side note: if knicks dont go to the finals  then my other vote goes to indy that young scrappy team is awesome to watch...i like defense more than offense anyways

im all for physical ball... i wish the knicks banged like this... indy is young and scrappy, aside from their scoring output last night...if they get tired during the playoffs do they have the offense to come back if there defense lets up?

side note: if knicks dont go to the finals  then my other vote goes to indy that young scrappy team is awesome to watch...i like defense more than offense anyways
The offense is a work in progress, but this month they've had like the 8th best offense in the league. Things are starting to click.

Seriously, I don't know if there is a guy that could take him 1-on-1 in the whole league.

David West is probably number 2, but James Johnson (Sacramento Kings now) is far and away the best fighter (with many credentials) in the league.

He never lost a kick-boxing or MMA match (when he competed). His father is a champion that has been training him his entire life.

Roy could get beat up pretty easily, he comes across as a softie.

He is a softie and he's aware of the label....I love the altercation and ejection for Hibbert he needs to get tougher out there. In order for Indy to go far in the playoffs they need Hibbert to be a man in the paint.

I enjoyed everything about this scuffle.

Hibbert now looks like he's about as tough as 2 ply, instead of single. At least he's finally looking involved in the game recently. He looked like he was just wandering around on the court a lot early this season.

I love that steph got in there, got thrown off and then went back in there. I was just hoping he wasn't gonna turn his ankle in there.

Both these teams are gonna need to be scrappin' to make a run. Good to see.

It isn't.

I got no problems with playing tough D and making hard fouls. I wasn't against Hansborough's foul against Wade last year, because he was going for the ball but followed through.

However, I do have problems when you get annoyed that someone is playing physical and then try to throw them down MMA style (a la Hansborough on Valciunas). That **** is just weak.

I'd say Hibbert deserves a 1 game suspension for throwing an elbow and maybe West if it is deemed he threw a punch. Maybe a fine for Lee, but nothing suspension worthy on the Warriors side.

I thought we went through this and showed how your logic is blinded by your fandom. Val fouled Hans and Hans took Vals momentum and threw him. Refs didn't call anything since it was obvious that Val was shoving with two hands so it was a tit for tat play.

Blinded by my fandom?

I'm going to use your own words, so re-read the bolded text. If throwing people describes how to play basketball, then I'm sure you were fine with what Pittman and Haslem did against the pacers last year.

Pittman "slipped" and hit Lance by accident. And Haslem was going for a two hand block on Hans, but followed through by accident.

I'm assuming that's how you would describe it yeah?

Again I already said there should of been a foul called but there wasn't. You argued Val didn't foul Hans because no foul was called by the refs and I pointed out that a foul wasn't called on Hans for the "get the off me" move that Hans did. You want to have it both ways though.

Its completely failed logic right there in your argument. You got pissed and rightfully so that it "was your player" who got the worst of it. I have never said it was an accident and to imply so just show that you can't argue very well and are reaching for flawed examples.

Heat fans always point out that Danny was talking smack in the Heat series but overlook Lebrons elbows to clear space on Danny or Wades shove in Collisions back on a fast break which was not a basketball play on the ball which hit Wade in the head btw.

See, this is the problem. I didn't say it wasn't a foul on Val. I said there was, and Hans should have just held his ground and he would have gotten a call.

I like the way the Pacers play, and I am a huge fan of PG. However, I hate cheap shots, and that play on Val was definitely one. Hans was just taking out his frustration with the physical play of Val.

So please don't put words in my mouth, which I clearly did not state.

I see I must of interpreted your post wrong then.

You know they call fouls right. If a person puts two hands on your back and pushes you out, most likely you will get a call for a lose ball foul.

Yeah you did. The fact that Hans didn't even wait or hold his ground to get a call, rather just throwing someone down isn't acceptable. If he made a play to get the ball for the rebound, he would have gotten a call.

Either way, I'm done arguing. It was a dirty play done by Hansborough. I don't mind hard fouls and tough basketball, but being a little ***** and throwing someone down because they match your team's physicality and box you out by using two hands, isn't right.

If you can't see that, then that's your fault.

The league could have gone back, reviewed it and suspended Hansbrough if it was a cheap shot... They didnt. So find something else to complain about.

This is classic basketball. If people dont like it, there are 50 years or so of basketball that i know they were not fans of. Fights and scuffles used to be common place.

I think the Lee suspension is a bit weak for basically just pushing, but the league most likely wanted the suspensions to be equal on each team so suspended one player each and those two started it.

Actually he was falling down for his teammate and how about Lee just walking away while Curry gets rag dolled.. Lol Lee just got tired of getting worked over all night which is understandable. After awhile I imagine he was chaffing a bit and just wanted the night to end.

If Curry hurt his ankle during that, multiple players on the Pacers would have mysteriously disappeared.
